Difference between hills and mountains
omchi
Can anybody tell me what is difference between hills and mountains? is it in percentage slant of a hill/mountain? (for example to 5% Hill is main atribute and over 5% its Mountain?)

It's in the stage settings.
When you see a green flat line icon -> flat stage, for any climb in that flat stage, the hill stat will be 100% most important
When you see a orange curvy icon -> hilly stage, hill stat most important, if there are longer climbs it could be 50% hill and 50% mountain
When you see a red mountainous icon -> mountain stage, mountain stat most important, but sometimes als 25 to 35% hill stat, depending on the stage settings. You can see the stage settings also with the official editor.

Ah i get it know, Is that set if your in custom tour too. Cant remember what setting is it. Hills <---- 1.0 ----> Mountain?

SportingNonsense
Yes, thats the setting. 1.00 means its entirely based on the Mountain stat, 0.00 means entirely based on the Hill stat.

And the reason why our PPDB game online was so weird with Gilbert being there, was because the stage settings resetted to 0.0 somehow, by Plakkers handy work Grin

that setting is set in the XML and unfortunately has no relation to the "relief" setting that shows a yellow "hill" or red "mountain"

yes. which is why people giving Valverde 81 mountain and 83 hills are idiots. he'll dominate like Merckx.

EDIT: sorry if that sounded a bit aggressive. I'm not myself today.

I remember discussing this with you once. Do would it be better if Valverde has say 79 Mountain and 83 hills? Or would that mean he gets dropped a lot in the high mountains. Oh wait! He does.. Silly me Grin

One thing should be mentioned: on this particular PCM, the difference from 79 to 80 in a stat is enormous

So would you give Valverde 80? or 79?

In my personal DB, I gave Valverde 80. I have a lot of 80 climbers though, because the differences in the top are so small. Evans and some others are at 81, Menchov, Sastre, Kohl and Sella at 82, and Contador at 83

depends on the stamina and resistance stats.

right now on my custom DB that I'm tweaking, he has 80. His stamina is highest among climbers, resistance is one of the highest and recovery sucks. Only F.Schleck has (far) lower recovery.

It's an attempt to get realism from results. sometimes I end up trying weird stuff.

For instance, Rujano has 80 climbing and the lowest stamina and resistance in the DB. the result: just as in real life, he only does well in mountain TTs

80 51 and 50 here Pfft

I originally gave him about the same you did, but he was doing too well on road stages for my liking.

I've just got one question then Shock

How the hell are we supposed to give F.Schleck reasonable stats if he wins Tour de France or just the stagevictory at Jauisers or d'Huez, when he's also a very good classics rider? Then it's the same as with Valverde Frown

the same as every other rider: keep testing the hell out of it and tweaking the stats until you're satisfied
