Course de Solidarnosc
We're reaching the end of the season, which is almost traditionally becoming a timeframe in which the Course du Solidarnosc (solidarity) takes place. As it's already the third season in which this Polish race takes place. And the route hasn't changed much. It consists of four stages, two with one KoM sprint. All stages aren't entirely flat, and finish with a few laps on a circuit that all has a hill in them. It certainly won't be the a race for riders who can't endure the hills at all.
What's also notable in this stage is that three stages have a length of over 220 kilometers! Surely something that doesn't happen a lot at lower ranks, so it'll be interesting to see which riders can handle that.

Not new this year either is the clash with the Herald Sun Tour. With that event moving to C2HC status however, one may wonder if some sprinters decided to spend their time there. But that isn't the case, really. Only Nizzolo, Thorsen, Mezgec and Van Hoff decided to go to Australia. So it's still an event in which the best sprinters of the CT battle it out!
And if you've been following the Continental Tour this season, you'll know by now that Guarnieri is the best sprinter on paper. However, he hasn't really shown it yet. This race should be one in which he can get rid of his inconsistency at rack up the points he owes to his manager.
His biggest rivals should become Van Heerden, Manninen and Keukeleire. Van Heerden is famously unbalanced, but is able to get over the hills well as well as good stamina and has the benefit of a strong Rothaus team which can help him overcome his weaker acceleration. Manninen and Keukeleire are more balanced, may not be able to win every time but have everything they need to be consistent.
Among the very good sprinters with clear weaknesses are Guillén, Carsi, Salleh and Vanoverschelde, who all may suffer a bit from the speedbumps near the end. One tough stage in which they have to leave a gap and their GC aspirations may be gone, but there's still plenty of chance for one or two sprints in which they can show their full potential.
Finally, Coutinho, Matthews and Angarita are the main outsiders of this race. Matthews has a good skillset but may lack some top speed. Coutinho may have to work for Van Heerden, but could get a chance if his leader underperforms in the first stages. Angarita will need a really good day for a top result, but is able to pull off a top 5 once or twice for sure.

Hopefully Guillen and Frankovic can build on their Heiste Pijl results. I also wouldn't mind us getting involved in the KOM fight, but I'm guessing the team will be focused on the sprints.

Next race where Van Heerden is doing worse than his leadout? |

Hope Guarnieri can follow up his win from Hanko Classic. The length should play in his favor, but the hills could be a problem. We have a strong team here though, so I'm feeling confident we can control this.

Positioning and Acceleration of Van Heerden is simply a joke and does cost Coutinho/Wippert/Hochmann several points this season, who do so much better than him on most days.
That said, Guarnieri is an utter joke this season. Probably being too strong for the division and can`t handle it. Anyway, the amount of points lost by him is incredibly high. |

Nice result by Guillen to kick things off, seemed to handle the distance quite well

Always nice to start a race with a stage win, hopefully Salleh can keep consistent through the remaining stages and get a top 3 GC result if not the outright win.

Same old story; no lead-out, terrible positioning by Guarnieri. Need to do better - every point matters in the title race.
Congrats to sammy!

Great way to bounce back! The lead-out wasn't the best, but it's one of the few times we've had one this season, so I'm nonetheless very happy. Guarnieri shows his qualities today with that long sprint.
Hope we can keep this up on the last two stages.

Congrats to Guarnieri on the stage win, nice to see him delivering, even if we do have one of his biggest rivals.
Holding onto the race lead is the important part, hopefully Salleh can keep his consistency and continue challenging for the stages and defending his GC.

Hopefully no more punctures, Guillen is fragile enough already

Two top 10s in the first 2 stages. Carsi isn't doing too badly but hoping for slight improvement and maybe a podium in the next stages!

It's improving at least, though I have a hard time getting over the complete lack of help from the team to Manninen.
Cool to have Aviv within striking range of the youth jersey.

Our guys were in the middle of an extremely important conversation with 1,5 km to go, when suddenly an untimely sprint finish occurred out of nowhere. Very unlucky.

Good finish from Manninen. Imagine what he could do had he been helped towards the finish...

Fantastic race for us! Guillen had no lead out and was free wheeling it the whole race, consistently and succesfully. 4th overall is a very good result for the "weaker" sprinter
And Poljanec again makes his breakaway appereance really count as he sneakily climbs to 13th overall and grabs the white jersey
Thanks for all the great reports Vien

This is very reminiscent of Krieger's race at Soli last season, having done next to nothing all season and then pulling out a promotion confirming performance out of nowhere. Van Heerden, while somewhat better throughout the season, has been a source of constant irritation for his manager, but now ends the season on a high.
Congrats roturn!

Manninen consistently slightly worse than hoped, but again with very little help.
Could have been worse but I was hoping for a lot more than GC 5th and a single stage podium to be honest.
