"I'm happy to be here, to lead a team as big as Liquigas will be a real challenge, but I'm looking forward to it. We will foucs on the spring classics and the three grand tours this year, but we hope to do well in all Pro Tour races. We have a fairly complete team with riders for all races."

Thanks

January month was quiet for Liquigas, we had no races and the training worked without problems. We can report that the new Australian Champ is Ben Day, he finished before Robbie McEwen. So with no races in January month we start our season here in February with following race:

Gran premio Costa degli Etruschi

Leader:Luca Paolini

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0003-2.jpg
The early break was formed after a while and had 6 riders in it

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0004-1.jpg
As you can see they work well together, already a decent lead, but on the other hand. It's 140km left.

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0005-1.jpg
With 17km left it's decided, they will fight for the win. As soon as he realises it Ermeti form Tenax attacks.

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0006-1.jpg
Paolini attacks witg 6km left, mostly to test his legs for the day. He don't get very far, was taken back a few hundred meters later

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0007-1.jpg
The sprint is on, Ermeti against Dietziker, whoever wins, it will be a surprising one.

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0008-1.jpg
It's Ermeti!, despite his attack ealrier he was the strongest in the break.

i129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/alex153liquigas/PCM0009-1.jpg
Lorenzetto wins the bunch sprint for 8th ( Tankink had attacked and finished 7th just before the peleton ), while Paolini manages 13th for Liquigas in there season start.
