Put it in the bug thread - HERE - and hopefully it will get fixed in a patch.

Did you sign riders in the beginning of the season? If so, that's why.
I haven't had any troubles with this at all. Neither has any beta testers. |

Well, you should be able to at least get one rider in the start of the season..... |

You can't do that in real life. the squad the team starts with is the squad the team starts with. So the fact you can actually do it in the first place is already a "gift" from cyanide. Somehow, people just want more, more and yet more.

i took on 1 cheap young rider... therefore i have to let go of voigt, bobby, sastre, kroon and 6-7 more... that makes perfectly sence
Try to start a new career with csc and see how much starting salary money you have... i have 16000:cry: |

Well, almost all sports manager games start in the offseason/preseason because a lot of people like to start signing some riders/players before to start the season. So for me it's more a cyanide's way to resolve that than a "gift" (or a "bug" for other people).
Anyway it isn't a problem than an editor can't resolve. |

I haven't started a game as CSC but it sounds like they have more riders with big contracts than their budget allows. CSC will be challenging |

well... it seems that all the teams have more riders than their budget allows... check rabobank, astana and so on... all will have ½ of their team leaving end of season. If not one beta tester found this which is just so obvious im not even bothering with career mode until we get another 2-3 patches.... same old same old
inexcusable i sayops: |

I have played two seasons with Lampre, and I, as said, haven't had any problems. I don't know about other teams, though |

well, i just made a check and saw that Lampre doesnt have a problem as no "important" or expensive riders leaves at the end of the season... That is not the case with the other big teams:cry:

You do realise that you can sign up those big riders again even though u only have $16,000 Salary Funds left. If you offer them the same amount of money they are on in their present contract, u won't "lose" any Salary Funds. If you offer them less, u will have more for the next season. etc etc. |

I had the same issue in 07, but it turned out that I was allowed to offer more than my transfer budget for the season. I would have thought that it would be the same for 08?
If not it seems a bit dumb since you should be able to retain the same riders with the same salaries if you meet your goals.
Alternatively you could wait to renew contracts until your new budget comes in mid october. But by then I guess your top riders will be gone.

If you don't like it just change your salary cap
Go into Eyolfur's Advanced Editor, open the DYN_team table and edit the figure in the "finan_f_allowed_BMSC" to change your salary cap.
Seriously, stop complaining, you notice that you are the only one complaining?

In all honesty it does sound like it is a bug, so a bit of complaining is called for. And if he is anything like me, editing the budget will feel a little bit like cheating. |

This guy is probably complaining because on old games he had silly teams like the schlecks contador dekker menchov sastre and cunego therefore it is impossible to lose all 3 grand tours. I think its a good thing as it stops people having to many good riders and makes it harder to wins things as the riders will be stread across a few more different teams making it more competitive. |

if your team is successfull its only fair that the riders who renew their contracts get more money dont you think jacknic? perhaps old riders who's stats are declining should be cheaper or some but others should go up imo |

yes just edit it, i mean thats what the db editor is there for...... Plus i think its a good thing. I mean sastre is getting on a bit in CSC and with other great riders there like the schlecks and some other riders you are going to buy its a good thing. Just think if all of them stayed you wouldnt be able to buy any riders. Plus with most of the PT teams having the same problem you can just buy there released riders
