I didn't know he was that small.....
Deadpool
I know Oscar Freire is pretty diminutive, but I didn't know he was this small. Just look at the height that Eurosport lists him at:

I think the height of the riders are same shit, the muscles are more important - sprinters has bigger and heavier muscles than the thin climbers.

Well, it depends from measurements and conversions, and I've been told I was 1,85 m once, whereas I used to measure 1,83m and always did that since then, but...
Zabel measured 1,76 m in 1997, a couple of years later he was 1,77 m tall, and now 1,78 m ?
If those measurements are accurate, he didn't simply use corticoids once in 1994 and EPO during one week in 1996.

Hmm those lengths are often wrong and taken from their youth period and never updated on their race license Wink

Gesink is still listed as 1m87, while in real life, he is 1m91...

Bäckstedt is kind of a sprinter, and he's bigger than a firetruck Grin

Dan_Grr
Being bigger or smaller has some relevance in uphill or dowhill sprinting, but generally sprinters have one thing in common: fast twitch fibers, which is more important.

Dankan
Jan Kirsipuu was once listed as a 1'79m, 80kg sprinter... Shock

I think it's hard to get a racingbike in the size of the smallest man in the worldPfft

Why has this turned into a discussion of the size of the riders. The joke was Friere is listed at 1.71 Centimeters, which would make him by far the smallest person in the world.

Dan_Grr
Good observation skills. All the riders profiles are listed as 1.XX cm on Eurosport UK, which, if would be true, would have the size of half a thumb and we could have Tour de France in my backyard.
