So, the dauphiné is almost up. this time around the longer TT is only 31kms in length, that's quite shorter than usual, and it's one of the more mountainous editions, including the Joux-Plane, then a stage with the Croix-de-Fer and the climb to La Toussuire, and a final mountain stage with the Granier, Cucheron and Porte. all of them, traditional Tour de France climbs (except for La Toussuire. you may remember it from the queen stage of 2006, where Landis collapsed)
No Ventoux this time, sadly.
So, who's looking forward to it? the prologue is this weekend and I'm bettin on Leipheimer, since he's supposed to be preparing for this race especially. |

I think this could be as exciting as the actual tour! Will be amusing if Astana take the overall in yet another race. Especially the pre-tour warm up race.
Evans, Popovych, Leipheimer, Brajkovic, Horner, Rubiera, Valverde, Pereiro, Zubeldia, Sanchez, Hushovd, Halgand, Dessel, Goubert, Gesink, Flecha, Chavanel, Moncoutie, Khol, Casar, Bruseghin, Rogers, Hincapie, Beltran, Sastre, Sorensen, Gomez Marchante, are all on the provisional start list. Impressed? I am!

I really think it will be a nice race .. But there is only one mountain-finish
I would like more of them.. But the field is very strong .. Go Valverde |

I will be expecting a performance from levi after his no show at giro i guess he was using it as training for this. Also seems they will not be at the tour they will be giving it there all were as some of the others will be using it as a training run for the tour. Should be a good race and give us an idea for the tour itself. I think i would be putting my money of popo for a top 3 finish as i think he will lead there team with evans taking a top 10 as his warm up for tour |

Levi may not be fully recovered from his crash, so we will see how he does...Brajkovic rode well in Catalunya so Astana has a chance to be up front again...Popo and Cadel should put in great rides...Look out for Big George, as HighRoad has been riding fairly well this season...should be a great race

Indeed it's a very strong field in the Dauphine Libere this year.. Last year it wasn't that strong and tour de suisse had all the strongest riders .. Or almost hehe
As far as I know Eurosport will broadcast Dauphine again this year |

I agree this will tell us a bit about the Tour. but the other way around: I guarantee whoever wins the Dauphine will blow up in the Alps of the Tour (if they even participate in the Tour). |

there is no way ASO will let the dopers Astana back into le Tour. If they do I will lose all faith in professional cycling, ASO is our last hope. |

that's not true britishness - go hang yourself - we hate every other country
and the aussies are 2nd level down from the cheese-eating surrender monkeys and the krauts (no offence-i could have said something about goose-stepping) |
