Okay, so I have decided to start a new story, and there is a reason this one will succed, and that it every Brit on the site is going to be rooting for me. That is because I have chosen the British Pinarello Racing Team, with the goal of creating a viable road racing team. When I joined the team, I instantly told the rest of the managment that we needed new riders, and they agreed, but under one condition - I could only hire riders from the Commonwealth. This was okay initially, but I became enthralled by a young Italian prospect, Davide Malacarne, and was able to gain permission to sign him. So here is the final team:
The goals this year should be very managable, but with the team I have now, we will not be going for promotion, instead trying to develop our riders. Here are the team goals:
So ends the team presentation, hopefully the season will work well for us.

Tour of Wellington - Stage 1 - 7 km - ITT - Flat
Stage 1 of the Tour of Wellington, a 2.2 race in New Zealand that occurs at the end of the month of January and into Febuary. Here is the team I have sent:
The route is a dead-flat, east 7 km ITT, for which Johansson is a two-star favorite:
The first main rider off was Tom Zirbel, and he set a blistering time that lasted for a long time:
He was followed by King of South-Australia, who also set a great time, and narrowly took the lead:
The next 70 TT+ rider to go was Pinarello's own Johansson, but he was feeling horrible, and set a less-than amazing time:
Bissel got another great time-trialist on the road with Ben Jacques-Maynes, who rode well:
Next up was Chadwick of Team Type 1, who also set a solid time:
Next up was today's favorite, the Irish David McCann, who set a great time, and was able to take over the lead:
However, one of the last riders was Muller, the German of An-Post, who was able to just narrowly beat David McCann, and take the win and the lead going into tommorrow:
Results:
1 Christian Müller An Post - M. Donnelly - Grant Thornton - Sean Kelly Team 12'28
2 David McCann Giant Asia Racing Team + 1
3 Matt King SouthAustralia.com - AIS + 6
4 Tom Zirbel Bissell Pro Cycling + 8

14 James Millard Plowman Craven Racing Team + 18
15 Matt Wilson Team Type 1 + 19
16 Phil Zajicek Health Net presented by Maxxis s.t.
17 Paul Healion Pezula Racing s.t.
18 Ian Stannard Landbouwkrediet - Tönissteiner s.t.
19 Christoff Van Heerden Team Konica Minolta - Bizhub + 21
20 Cameron Wurf Pinarello Racing Team + 23
21 Jonathan Bellis Pinarello Racing Team s.t.
22 Daniel Holt Team Type 1 s.t.
23 Gustavo Artacho Colavita - Sutter Home presented by Cooking Light + 24
24 Jeremy Venell Bissell Pro Cycling s.t.
25 Fredrik Johansson Pinarello Racing Team s.t.
I was dissapointed with the tough result, but hopefully we can manage something with the rest of the race.

Difficulty? Good luck! And i'm pretty sure that Pete Williams is better on the hills than that... especially after racing with him. But thats just my opinion B)

I can register for others, and if they all deny me, I may have to pull out PCM Dashboard (no one could blame me) |

Tour of Wellington - Stage 2 - 117 km - Flat
A long flat day, but a small KOM "bump" at the end my mix things up:
A break quickly went out, including Oliphant:
The pack would have no problem bringing them back in though, as Wurf attacked over the very small hill near the end of the race. Wurf would take the KOM points and jersey, but was not able to make a gap, and was quickly swallowed back up:
Then, disaster struck, as a Drapac rider dropped to the ground, bringing down around 1/5th of the peloton. Included was Bellis, along with 3rd place King of South-Australia (rider in blue, second from top):
Meanwhile, back up front, Downing of Rapha-Condor would coast to an easy win:
Roulston, who was battling for a top 5, also fell, but brought no one down with him at around the 1 km to go mark. All of the riders who fell however were given the same time as the peloton. Tomorrow is an important stage, as it is officially flat, but has a sharp incline near the end. Also, this is my 999th post!!!
