Portuguese police have announced everything but the team's name so far. a bucketload of doping substances were found during a raid of the team's facilities. I'm curious which team it is. it's one from northern portugal.

Equipment for blood transfusions were found. And apparently it IS MSS.
not 100% confirmed yet, though

Don't get me wrong, I'm not picking at Portugese people here, but Portugese cycling has a very stinking reputation when it comes to dope. It's no wonder that so many riders involved in Operacion Puerto signed with Portugese teams this season. |

MSS eh? How surprising
...is it illegal according to civil law, to dope yourself in Portugal? |

Once again "innocent until proven guilty" is reaching its limits here, since nobdy was found positive, it's only a police raid that caught people... |

oh well, there really is no alternative to the "innocent untill proven guilty" approach, is there? Of course, people like us can accuse anybody we want, but the authorities and the media have to act responsible, eh?

Yes, and he died by crashing in a race... so why is this really relevant? |

He died of some heart failure which usually happens because of drugs. Now, there's solid proof that MSS doped. Draw your own conclusions |

Nothing I wasn't expecting... Especially if you look at the names of the last cyclists to leave this team and return to Spain...
BUT, it is still not proven that they are the squad the police raided... There 3 other teams in that same region of Portugal... And one of them is the team of Francisco Mancebo and Eladio Jimenez...

Oh yes, the same network that said "Joly, the Spanish sprinter that overcame testicular cancer"...

the kind of mistake anyone not affiliated with cycling makes.
this kind of thing is something you can trust them in, no questions asked.
meanwhile, the local government of the Póvoa region have said they are "desolate" and will immediately withdraw sponsorship of the team.

no idea. the sponsorship from the Póvoa region was 0.2 million.
But I really don't think that matters now...I'll be surprised if this team does anything from now on.

Apparently, only 5 riders and 5 members of the staff are implicated in this case... All others were searched but were clean...
