Tour of East Java
The final C1 race of the season sees us head to Indonesia for two days. The overall win should go to the strongest climber, but with only one mountain stage to decide the race there is always the threat of a breakaway win. We start with a short and relatively flat stage, with some big name sprinters here hoping to take advantage of a simple looking point scoring opportunity. Then, the riders face a tough summit finish that you imagine will decide the final GC.

Hoping that the likes of Reza and Jaser can deliver Bouhanni to a good result in the first stage. Valls isn't a favourite for that second stage but he should still get Top 10, would be great to see one of my riders in the breakaway in the 2nd stage as well.

Guess we ran out of race days for our sprinters or something, I forget anyway, but hopefully Ji can get a decent result

Funny sprint. Avelino seems to believe he is already on vacations...
Congratulations anyway, Haussler and Karcher!
Onto the all-important mountain stage. Can I ask for an orthodox race, jph? Please?

Well, a podium is a good start. But the GC is what is important here. Fingers crossed for tomorrow! |

Pfff, my sprinters letting me down again, good thing Gaviria had an awesome ride there. Maybe he could've attacked or something though, but yeah..

Actually a really solid race day for us. We had no sprinter so Hatanaka gets in the break, and nearly pulls off the breakaway upset, only to be caught so close to the line, and Ji inside the top 60 and getting 2mins on some of his rivals for tomorrows mountain is nice.

Will certainly take that 2nd place from Bouhanni which was unexpected. Now time for Valls to shine.

We had no expectations and I did not get disappointed!
Thanks for the quick reports, only Japan Cup to go for us now I think.

Thank you jph! |

Not too bad there from Valls who has managed to finish 10th in the GC. Add that to Bouhanni finishing 2nd on Stage 1 and 3rd in the Points Classification and we have a decent 2 days.
