The life of Brent Bookwalter-The American Dream
matt493
Every American cyclist wants to be like Lance

As I grew up I wanted to be just like Lance. I wanted my chance for fame and I wanted to ride in the Tour de France with an American team. I'm closer now then ever. My name Brent Bookwalter and I ride for Team BMC. I am from North Carolina in banner elk. Right now I am not the best rider in the world or maybe even my team but many tell me that I have a potential to be. I have trained ever since I was young. I grew up admiring the likes of Lance Armstrong, Andrew Hampsten, Greg Lemond, and Hincapie and they all influenced me a little bit influenced me to sometimes know that I am not always going to be the favorite to win, and Hincapie made me realize that sometimes I may have to take a backseat to the leader and sacrifice my own good for the sake of the leader. I am still developing as a rider but one day I hope to ride with the best in the Grand Tours.

Just to let you all know I planned on continuing my Chad Cole story but it crashed and I tried to fix it and it ended up in ending the career for good.

Info about my new story.

Yeah. I got tired of playing on Spain and wanted to see the 2.0 pcm db. but I still have the db saved somewhere so maybe one day it will come back.

I don't go on that site so it was just a coincident.

You know a lot of american cyclists. The funny thing is that I picked him and later I found out that he is from North Carolina and you don't find many cyclists from North Carolina.

Edit: and then I look up at the advertisements and it says join NC cycling.

A chance to represent America.
www.matthewktabor.com/images/american-flag.jpg

I was invited to train with the USA national team. It is so early in the season and I know it will be time consuming but to be so young and still picked is such an honor. I'll need to work at it if I am ever going to have a chance to win it. With the worlds still many months away I will do everything this season to prove that I should ride for America.

La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Stage 1

I start my season today and I looked forward to hopefully having a great performance. I will be racing for Moos and setting up a win for him.

Early on in the race I decided to go along with the break in hopes that I could stay away and take the win. It was a couple groups of 2 and I was in the lead 2.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage1_I_break_2008.png

I took the most points from the KOM and after that i focused on trying to stay away. Coming into the last small hill I was pulled in and Moos immediately attacked. Moos stayed away and took about 1 minute on the rest of the peloton.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage1_moos_wins_2008.png

I fell behind the peloton but the peloton had been split by the climb and I still finished 20th.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage1_I_finish_2008.png

I took the KOM jersey and it was a great start to the season.

Yeah well I looked up a young American stage racer who wasn't on a pro tour team and he was the only one. and Deadpool's BMC story is over. So that is only 2 now.

La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Stage 2

After a good day for BMC in stage 1 I decided that my goal should be to go for the KOM points and make sure that i can have the jersey until the end. If I couldn't get away in the break my job would be to pull in the break for Moos.

A very short stage today but it was also hilly so it was ideal for a break. A couple of riders broke away and I was right on there tail making sure I wouldn't be dropped.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage2_I_break_2008.png

It was down to two riders and we were relaying trying to stay away from the pack.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage2_I_relay_break_2008.png

The peloton kept getting closer and closer so I put on the gas and was able to get a little gap on the other escapee and with 1 km left the peloton was left than 45 seconds behind. I sprinted for the win and I took my first win of the season.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage2_I_win_2008.png

What a victory!!! despite coming second in all the KOM sprints I still held on to the jersey.

BMC is based in Santa rosa 5 miles from here. I've known Scotty and Nathan for long time and met the rest of the team at their training camp before California.

I actually ate dinner with Brent, Scotty and Nathan at Merco Cycling Classic. Gavin Chilcott thinks very highly of him, at least that is what he told my coach, Gavin's girlfriend.

La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Stage 3

There were no mountain points so I was just going to stay with the pack and try not to crash.

Early in the stage a group of 4 got away.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage3_4others_break_2008.png

Mitsubishi came to the front and tried to reel in the break to set things up for there sprinters.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage3_mit_contols_break_.png

After the break was pulled in and there were 10km left there was a small cobbled section. a group of 5 broke off the front including Wyss.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage3_wyss_sprints_2008.png

Wyss was to strong for the rest and easily out sprint the rest for the win.

i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/matthew493/tropicale_stage3_wyss_wins_2008.png

Sorry for no results page but nothing changed much.
