Petacchi will-after he didn't get punished for the Salbutamol in his blood in the Giro 2007 last year- get a ban for 1 year. Read this:http://www.wvcycling.com/bericht/1173
I'll translate it:
The International Sport Tribunal in Lausanne has Condemned the Italian Sprinter Petacchi to 1 year Suspension. The sprinter of Milram tested in the giro of 2007 positive on the use of salbutamol, which he had for his asthma.
Alé Jet was exeronated by the Italian Cycling Federation in the middle of 2007, but the CONI didn't agree with that. They lodged an appealby the World Anti Doping ... TAS, who gave the Italian a 1year suspension...
Correct me if I'm wrong

Dont see him as a Doper immediately, it might be he is. But you can only have 1000 microgram of Salbutamol in your blood, he had too much, and that might be because of his Asthma medicins.. Don't think so actually..

Since he's not riding the Giro, he has plenty time to get his appeal in before the Tour starts. The verdict from TAS isn't final is it? |

Well, this was coming. Every year, Petacchi never rides the Tour even though he wants to. It was only a matter of time until a reason came up this time

So we're going to have another doping case when UCI announces who their 'top guy' is? Great. 3 in a row |

On the contrary, it's not even close to being enough

Aw, the fastest man in the world has just got a crippling breathing problem, that's all.
It always amazes me that such a large percentage of the peloton has "asthma." Those TUE certificates must be incredibly easy to come by. |

the ratio of professional cyclists with "asthma" is in fact 392% of the ratio of normal people with asthma.
surely just a coincidence...*cough*....

Was that a cough I just heard? You're now clear to use as much salbutamol as you like.
