"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent."

Well, technically, I'm 35 kms away from that place. B)

And this hillbilly place where I live belongs to Lisbon district. Oh, and I don't really have an accent, at any language (well, from the ones I can talk a bit, maybe at spanish, the reason I don't like to write in that language).Wink

However, I think I'm right at this point.

And I can tell something: in these towns and villages near from here, there are some specific accents, but I don't have one of these definately.

At English, how can I have an accent? I'm a student...

Great...now I can't stop thinking of you yelling "They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom" Pfft (or some other random incredibly corny line from that movie)

The american guy over where I work (Dwayne something) thought I was american at first. Too many american movies for me, I guess. He asked me if I was from Albany, wherever the heck that is Frown

It is in upstate New York. It is the capital of the state of New York. I can't really imagine what an accent from up state New York would sound like, maybe a cross between a new england accent and some kind of New York accent. But that is where Albany is, if you cared

Well, we also have Albany not too far from here, somewhere in the North of Greece, close to the former Republic of Yugoslavia, but I doubt that's what issoisso's fellow was referring to Pfft

You should here my teacher in that case...he has started to lose his accent a little bit though since he moved here. Hearing him speak swedish with a scottish accent is hilarious:lol:
