Only 10 teams will travel to Malaysia to contest this stage race. The mountainous stages 4 and 5 should decide the race, particularly to the bottle allowance of just 1. But there is also a 11km time trial aswell.
Despite a sponsor goal to finish in the top 3 of this race, White Bear Steyr have fielded a weak line-up, reigning champion Bernhard Kohl is absent. But if rodda fixes a scheduling problem with Thomas Rohregger, the fairly weak field means that the goal could still be completed.
Making their season debut, highly tipped B&O could be the team to beat here. Aleksandr Pluchkin is backed up by Ricardo Mestre, while in the sprints, Jonas Aen Jorgenson will have the help of Matti Breschel.
Could Pluchkin be beaten by Vitor Rodrigues? The LA/MSS/Pearl Jam rider beat Pluchkin at last years Tour de l'Avenir, could he do so again? Whatever happens, Pluchkin and Rodrigues are expected to hold the top 2 spots in the GC.
Nippo look to aim at the sprints with malaysian Ahmad Haidar Anuawar firm favourtie for all flat stages. He is backed up by Abakoumov, while Spaniards Jimenez and Bernabeu may feature in the mountains.
Procycling will hope a successful breakaway on one of the mountain stages can aid Charly Wegelius (although looking at the field, he could make it on merit anyway), while Nicholas Roche will attack the hilly stages. Chinese rider Haijun Ma is a potential candidate for the time trial.
Slipstream will hope that Jason Kenny can stick with the peleton and provide a shock performance on the flat stages, while Peter Stetina could take a top 10 spot on the GC.
The 7th continental team is Dasani, they will target breakaways which could prove a good tactic with so little teams contesting.
B&O
LA/MSS/Pearl Jam
Nippo Corporation
Slipstream
White Bear Steyr
Zenmind - Evolution
Procycling-BBC
IrnBru B
Nintendo B
Virgin Media B

Yay Langkawi, I hope I can start out as I did last season, but I would like to do it in a bit more controlled manner this time.

Slipstream hopes to not suffer under laws of the bos effect. It would be unfortunate if Stetina had his one chance to be captain in a major stage race ruined by a lousy sprinter

Good news, me and PCM06 have worked out our differences, and the first stage should be posted either tommorow or Saturday.

Thats a tad embarrassing. Ive used the U-25 rankings screenshot instead of the GC screenshot. Gimme 10 minutes.
Edit: Replaced. It also makes more sense now somehow.

One tip for you: Click "Race podiums" when the race ends instead of going directly to the results page. That makes the game crash more rarely. |

I did.
Also:
Todays chase was sponsored by B&O and Nippo. The worlds favorite provider of Dishwasher/Homecinema hybrids.
Please tell me someone laughed at that because i found it clever

Jørgensen actually participated in the chase. And he was still in the top 10 with 4kms to go. Then when Keisse pulled ahead of the pack, i sorta lost all track of him.

To further prove my incompetence, here's an apology regarding yesterday's faulty coverage:
I failed to mention that riders finishing in the positions from 30 through 62 did lose between 2 and 3 minutes. The affected riders include: the good half of Procycling - BBC, Pliuchkin, Jørgensen, Abakoumov and Frischkorn.
It was also the plan to record stage 2 earlier today, but yet another small issue has popped out requires SN to get his finger out before we can continue.

Ill know once i load up the replay.
EDIT: I must have been completely blind: With 8kms to go, there was a huge crash that took down half the pack! I will update the stage report in a minute with this information.
Hardly an impressive debut as stage reporter eh?

Stage 2 and 3 is done. There wont be anymore today as the sun has now hit my room.
One man will become quite happy.
One man will ponder if this race was a good idea.
One man will sit and think "Yup, told them"
One man will just sit confused.
