Well, as the debate over Paris-Roubaix has started, we shouldn't forget about Ghent-Wevelgem on the 9th, so,
1. What do you think is the projected outcome?
2. Will it be decided in a sprint, or by an attack on the Kemmelberg climb?

Hammond for the win!!
To be fair he did come 2nd last year, (because he let Burghart win) realistically, there are a number of riders capable, Hushovd normally does fairly well here, but there are a lot of better riders than him, so I have no idea

I actually agree that Hammond has a legitimate shot at winning, especially because I think some of the other top riders like Hushovd may hold back, so they can make a run at the "Hell of the North" |

No, he doesn't - unless Cav crashes or DNF, he'll stick by his side and close gaps and/or lead him out in the sprint. High Road aren't stupid, Cavendish isn't third favourite for no good reason. |

Ciolek will lead out Cav, and if the race is coming down to a sprint with 5-10 km to go, tactical sense is to give it a go, because the worst that can happen is that he is caught and Cav will still be involved in the sprint |

this only ever ends in a sprint when there are several very strong teams pulling for one
I don't think that's the case this year at all. Still, you never know. Anyone can win.

In a related G-W note, I have to note that I believe that Cipo won in '02 simply because of his jersey

It was a great race that, I have it on DVDB) One of the very few times Cipo attacked, and it was a beautiful win

I like GW 2001 as well, because the guy sitting 3rd in Deadpools picture won that year! OF course I may be a bit bias. What a great pic to see Fast Freddy in there as well as Big George.
Always disappointed Freddy never did more, and part of me says that GW 2001 may have been the only classic (semi) Big George is ever going to win.
Everybody beats up Hoste for his near misses, but Big George has had his share as well. DOn't get me wrong LOVE the guy but damn it always the Bridesmaid never the Bride...so to speak.
One other tidbit, some young kid named Tom riding for US Postal was in there for a top10 finish.... |

I think with some riders looking towards the Hell of the North, this could be a very interesting race

I think it will be a sprint and Hushovd, Zabel and McEwen will be top 3, but dunno in what order |

they will, they changed the descent of the kemmelberg to another road which is not (as) dangerous |

That road is not cobbled, which makes a huge difference |
