Okay, so imagine that you were founding a team, and you could hire any rider (this is for real life). Who would you hire? In my view you can choose either a very good young and upcoming rider - as in Andy Schleck, or you could hire an old hand to guide your team for a few years, such as Bettini.
I would go with Dekker, I think he will be a top 5 rider in a few years. Plus, he is also already good enough to win some big races.
Note: Too many options so, no poll...........NO

I might pick a Bettini or maybe a Contador also.

So this is how you got 100 posts in 24 hours, 3 posts when 1 with an edit would have worked fine..... |

I didn't mean to post twice. It was 5 minutes later so it was a whole new chain of thought.

Why am I not suprised that the manager of the Hincapie team likes Hincapie.....now why could that be?
I really like Hincapie as well though, proabably 2 behind Evans on my list of favorite riders. |

Bettini! he can still get good results and mentor the younger riders.

That is why I mentioned him, he is easily in the top 5 pure non-cobblestone classics riders of all time. |

It is actually a real team in the US, well Team Hincapie-Dasani is, and I had already made a jersey and accessories so I picked it...that being said I love George, Lance doesn't win all those Tours with out him and he is one of the best alround riders in the world. |

I would chose Gesink, he is going to be the best. |

Some young star like Mikhael Ignatiev, or Ivany Rovny... oh wait, that's already the case... Tinkoff beat me to it ops: B)

I don't think Ignatiev and Gesink are currently strong enough riders to warrant being the center of a team, when you could choose from all the pro riders. |

Maybe their dream team wouldn't necessarily be the best team. I would build a team around Gesink, I think hes almost there. B) |

I think that Gesink is a great rider, but he doesn't seem like Team Leader material to me. |

Gesink is less good with coping with stress, although he is still 21
I would chose Dekker (suprise) |

Well its a fair enough point to make, and i agree that Ignatiev would struggle being the sole leader of a Pro Tour team, but in a lower team he could easily lead, and in a few years time i truely believe we will be seeing a solid one day classics rider emerge. Gesink is pretty darn strong, and with another year or two's experience will easily be ready to lead.
