Alberto Contador (Astana) won a mountaintop duel versus Colombian condor Mauricio Soler (Barloworld) on Thursday. (Velonews)
Anyone got anything against "The Colombian Condor" for Soler's nickname? I like it because "El Cóndor" reminds me of "Il Falco"

Well, he's not a native english speaker, which applies to most people over here, so that's to be expected.
As for Soler, why not "Soler"? After all, that's his name. Failling that, maybe "Angry" as in one of the seven dwarves.
Although something tells me if he was one of the seven dwarves, he'd probably be dopey. guess why.

Soler sounds like "solaire" (solar) in French. Whenever he does something particular, we get puns in French medias like "the Soler Energy". :x |

I was joking about racial sterotypes. The irish always win fist-fights, and the Jews are great generals (those are sterotypes at least in the U.S.).
Note: I don't actually believe them, I was joking
P.S. - I thought you were talking about me with the stupid thing, now I realize it was about Soler

So lets altef the topic a bit, what is the worst nickname they have heard. I would go with Daniel "Boobie" Gibson, a point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA. |

Worst is hard to categorize. I can think of some "odd" ones.
In the NFL there is a player Anthony "Booger" McFarland.
Larry Johnson, an ex-NBA player was "Grandmama".
Jared Lorenzen, backup QB for the NFL's New York Giants has several. He's 280 pounds playing QB... a bit big for the position.
"The Round Mound of Touchdown"
"Battleship Lorenzen"
and my favorite "The Pillsburry Throwboy" |
