Astana is making it's case for the Tour de France. Despite being left out of the picture, Astana continues to dominate every race they are in. That domination continued today with Astana going 1-2 at the first stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon, a nine kilometer time trial. Preliminary results:
1. Alberto Contador (ESP)
2. Levi Leipheimer (USA)
3. Thomas Dekker (NED)
4. Jason McCartney (USA)
5. Samuel Sanchez (ESP)
Contador beat Leipheimer by a 3.6 second margin. Both guys are looking very good early on in the season. Let them in ASO, let them in!
What a stage for Astana!

Alberto was so nervous when starting the stage. He wasn't comfortable on the saddle, always changing his position, the chain combination, the gesture over the bike... but he's so stunning B) |

Contador must be in pretty good shape to beat those heavier dudes in a prologue
edit: maybe they're not that much heavier ops:

Yup, but now he has a prescious advantage on the others when they face the mighty 4th stage...

When Luxembourg goes 1-2-3, that's an accomplishment. this? not so much
At least not in a small race, I think
enjoy

Kirchen + both Schlecks in a mountain stage, in a small race. possible, just as mutch as Kroon, Dekker and Mollema taking first 3 places in a sprint with 40 rinders including ventoso and farrar. |

you mean a sprint up an extremely tough climb on cobbles, such as today's stage of Castilla y Léon?

actually, according to the race report I just read they attacked on the final climb and held on.
