Tom Danielson
A Tour of Spain stage winner and Tour of Georgia overall winner, Tom is considered the best pure climbing talent in the world.
That was directly copied from the Slipstream website. Don't you think that is a little ridiculous, he would barely make my top 50

"An eternal promise", we say at the country where Slipstream's based on. Barely capable to repeat his 5th position at the Vuelta two years ago. |

Valverde, Riccio, Contaador, Cobo, Sanchez - there are five (reasonably) young talents (u30), anyone want to name anymore |

Riccio? Bernardo Riccio is a young sprinter, no chance he'll turn into a climber at Tinkoff.
Seriously: Soler, Gesink, Mollema, Schleck... are way better. |

hype, hype, and more hype. He beat a bunch of american climbing records on a bike that was below regulation weight and suddenly he was "awesome"
We haven't seem him 100% healthy and fit not even once since 2005 (yes, that includes his Vuelta results. he was injured), but still, I see no indication that he's going to snap out of it. especially considering he's injured again.
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

Yes, too many promising riders have been felled by injuries (even Eddy Merckx, can you imagine how good he would have been if the injury in '69 didn't make him hurt on the climbs). Danielson is a good climber, but that is ridiculous. |

"Richie rich"? ..even he no. Piepoli was pulling him for stage win..let him win. After in the Zocolan where he was after young rider jersey he was droped directly.
Danielson hasnt developed has Lance expected...(ofcorse he had bad injures also).
Gesink, Soler, A.Schleck (and all those youngsters will get now on much harder to get away in the climb..all them are now "marked" climbers)

Bjarne Riis was the best ever, although I wouldn't use the word talent to define that. |

What about Soler, he was thrown into the picture, but hasn't come-up since, do people think he is a fluke (yes, i know this debate already happened). |
