Will be good to see this more fleshed out in it's own thread, if you mean a la Shonak's Lotto career then I'm excited! More story than just stats but still fast paced and not too difficult for you could be the start of something good!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Together, they should be capable of achieving the number of wins we achieved last year. (which was 28 ) |

After a very silent start at the Tour de San Luis, we brought some more experienced riders to the beautiful island of Mallorca. First race kilometres of the season for Barbero and Intxausti, who’s brought home a stage win and the GC last year.
Unfortunately, none of our leaders comes even close to their best shape this early in the season. Barbero is overpowered by the pure ‘fast’ sprinters such as Kristoff and Mezgec.
The traditional mountainous stage is where Intxaustistruck during last year’s edition. This year he clearly struggles to follow the other favourites. Drained, he’s dropped by the other favourites and he fights his way up to the beautiful Monasterio de Lluc.
At the front, it’s Colombia’s Juan Chamorro who takes the stage and the GC thanks to a fall of fellow escapee Alberto Contador. Mikel Landa finishes in between.
Intxausti eventually finishes in 7th, over 3 minutes down. He takes the same position in the GC.

sutty - the stage was a real disappointment though Beñat seems to have pulled out the best results possible with his current condition.

Vuelta a Murcia (1.1)
Next up is the Vuelta a Murcia, a tough one-day race back in eastern Spain. The main difficulties are the double 1st category climb and the short ramp up to the finish, el Alto del Castillo de Lorca.
Today’s BOTD consists of the following riders:
| Mesías | Caja Rural | | Ciolek | Bora | | Shuang | Roompot | | Baugnies | Trek | | L.L. Sánchez | Katusha |
As the front group reaches the climb, Mesías is the first guy to be dropped. No shame that a neo-pro can’t follow the others, especially when you look at the names he was on the road with.
Eventually, the whole breakaway is caught on the climb and a small group containing Valverde and Rodríguez breaks clear. It’s Esteban Chaves (TLJ) who brings the group back together.
Time for Diego Ochoa to launch an attack. Despite a maximum gap of over 1’, he pays for his attack even before the final bump.
Uphill, it’s our very own Beñat Intxausti who quickens the pace and under the red kite, he’s forced everyone out of his wheel…
And he takes it! First win for Beñat as well as for the team this year! Zardini takes a solid 6th place in his first race with us.
1 | | Beñat Intxausti | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | 4h10'03 | 2 | | Joaquím Rodríguez | Team Sky | + 19 | 3 | | Alejandro Valverde | Movistar Team | s.t. | 4 | | Robert Power | Lotto Soudal | s.t. | 5 | | Hugh Carthy | Team Sky | s.t. | 6 | | Edoardo Zardini | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 39 | 7 | | Jan Hirt | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. | 8 | | Yury Trofimov | Tinkoff-Saxo | s.t. | 9 | | Daniel Teklehaimanot | IAM Cycling | s.t. | 10 | | Gorka Izagirre | Movistar Team | s.t. |

Pre-race interview: Carlos Barbero
Good morning Carlos, and thanks for meeting us here at the beautiful Aquarium in Roquetas de Mar. Why did you want to talk here?
I prefer spending my pre-dace days on my own. After the morning ride, I bought a ticket for the aquarium. Being in this silent and beautiful place somehow calms my mind. Not that I’m nervous though. It’s just my way of finding some mental rest before the race.
What do you expect from tomorrow’s race?
Each year I’m happy to come back here and I managed some strong finishes too, with a 2nd place in 2015 and a 6th last year. I’ll have to see what other sprinters are here but I’m confident that another top-10 or even top-5 spot should be possible.
What about your personal goals for this season?
Well I have both won a stage and worn the leaders jersey in Catalunya, but I’m not sure if the race will be on my schedule. The Tour of the Basque Country is one of my favorite races as well but the route doesn’t always suit sprinters or even punchers like me. We’ll have to see about that too.
I’m quite sure I’ll ride the Vuelta and I hope I can grab a stage win there, just like Beñat Intxausti did last year.
Apart from that, I will most likely be chasing stage wins and points jerseys in smaller stage races such as the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon, where I hope to defend my title succesfully.
Thanks for your time, Carlos, and good luck with tomorrow’s race.
Thanks you, you’re welcome. See you at the podium tomorrow (chuckles).

Today's breakaway is formed by Vimpère - Burgos BH, Cordeel - Color Code and Megías - Movistar.
With 30 km left, Michael Mørkøv - Europcar accelarates, but everyone's reeled in and the pace is upped even further. No Caja Rural riders left at the front.
At the line, it's Enrique Sanz who beats Kristian Sbaragli for the win. Ruffoni comes in 3rd, Tinajero is our top finisher in 11th. Martínez and Barbero finish way down the field.
