Is there anyone else getting anoyed by the extremely big time gaps on mountain- and uphill-finishes? In a tour the TT-stat will almost be meaningless because time gaps between riders in a TT are so much smaller than in the uphill finishes compared to real life. For example a rider with 80MO and 80TT will easily lose against one with 82MO and 60TT... |

Strangely I have found the opposite to be true. I won the Tour only because of my time trial skills. Lost a few minutes in the mountains but was able to win 6 minutes in total on Quintana and win the Tour this way. |

What difficulty level are you guys playing on?
That might have an impact here.

Hard. I think the new system regarding energy may cause it, because now even the best riders hit the final climb having used up a lot of energy, which makes a lot of riders emptying the red and yellow bar early, or they at least need to use a very low effort not to empty it.

A good recent example, playing the Kitzbühler Horn-stage in Tour of Austria. Time gap from 1.-10. place: 9 minutes. In real life last year: Under 2 minutes. |

I think gaps were already too big in 2013, but 9 minutes to 10th place is insane. |

Well it depends of the opposition as well, I think.
I mean, if Quintana decides to start Osterreich, and in good form, in PCM, you'd get these gaps
Can't compare the gaps with real life one-on-one. But yes, 9 mins would be too big obviously.

Gaps are really too high, no problem to see 20th rider in the mountain stage coming to the line with 15minutes gap...
I agree that GTs are definitely decided in mountains in PCM15 and pro cyclist mode.TT stat does not matter much.

To clarify the Tour of Austria-example. The winner of the stage was Denifl with 74MO.. And the peloton was all together at the bottom of the climb. And in fact I have had a lot of similar experiences so far. |

Last year I was praying to fix that big time gaps. At least to run the clock half the speed.
For me it's like an action killer when you see guys just right behind you and lose that much.
Is there a possibility to fix this on our own? Like an *.xml file or something where the speed of the gap time is clarified.
Am I right, that back in PCM 10 or 11 the gap time was running slower in the mountain stages?

Yeah, agree florian96, it would have been awesome if the clock could go at half the speed. Actually, half the speed would be pretty close to realistic, I think. |

The scale of the stages is 1/10, so the time runs 10 times as fast as in reality.
It is not possible to change the scale. |

Lachi I know this comment was coming.
Track 10 times smaller so time 10 times faster.
But the visual effect makes it even worse.
I see a smaller gap because of the smaller Track, but the time is running in the opponent way and gets faster (bigger).
Cyanide might not change this. But maybe there is a way to set a speed for the running clock on the side. Like going there with 1/5, 1/1 scale or give the Player himself the chance to set the running clock speed. Stay with 1/10 or give it a heartbeat race for seconds.
It's so annoying to see big names battling for the GC or the stage with gaps of !minutes!, where there never can be one.
I don't want to say with this it ruins the game. Because we have to remember it's the right value. And sure I can deal with it if it won't change.
But the thrilling aspect is missing in some way. |

the gaps are back and as huge as PCM 2006 yeah. Unfortunately i see no clear way too fix it.
There was a pcm version, i think 2011 or 2010, where you had half mass sprints on every mountain, and there the gaps were cool and realistic, but the gameplay wasn't.
It's a hard choice |

I think Tour de France 2015 on consoles is a lot more realistic with sprints, mountains Time Trials. |

That's partly because they have a smaller scale.
And that'd be quite a difficult thing to implement for PCM..

Gaps are really massive in this edition, i had a Vuelta in "Be a Pro" where 6th guy in GC was down 40minutes to winner in the end.
Iirc, some 120 guys had finished the race...

I wouldn't mind about gaps being a bit too huge, but it's definitely related to this stupid programming that makes dropped groups/pelotons sitting up when the day's crucial attacks have gone clear. That's why some good climbers lose minutes in a stage, because they simply sit up and relax in a big group of losers. It's been the most annoying "feature" of PCM since PCM12 (iirc).. you can blame for PCM11 for many other things, but at least dropped riders kept fighting with an effort once they got dropped.
If I were Cyanide, I would simply raise the "standard effort" of the pack. Even more, since those dropped riders don't even save energy that way now. A TT-specialist will still suck in timetrials later in a stage race.

But not impossible? Look at Tour de France 2012, it was 1/2 scale and it was great. If cyanide dont want smaller scale for "arcade" players they could create a "Simulation" Mode with smaller scale, better AI etc. |
