Hello Loyal Cycling Fans,
We are speaking to you from the Old UCI headquarters in Switzerland, but after coming to power myself as President and Jandal as the new Vice President, we decided that the cycling world needed to change.
We formed the LPC or League of Professional Cyclists to get rid of all the beliefs of the corrupt and power hungry governing body, as we aimed to make a pure sport for those who simple enjoy racing and those who are the best cyclists in the world. We decided to form a new base in London as we tried to get a complete break from the old system.
We fired all the UCI workers and hired new people who were only interested in keeping a clean and professional sport. We brought in clean cyclists and repntent dopers to help us to understand how the drugs system worked and how we could improve it. We brought in Tyler Hamilton, who told us about how cyclists dope and get past the system, from this we decided that we needed to make stricter doping controls, we made it so that riders were tested everyday and that the teste would be more sensitive and even a fractional change would be picked up.
We decided to bring in David Millar as Head of Anti Doping and Punishments for any infringements, as he has been strong advocate for anti doping, as well as this we extended the ban length to lifetime bans.
The next decision we made was to disband all of the current teams and start a fresh, and this is were you come in. We want you to help us reform cycling all you have to do is set up a management company using the following form.
Management Company Name:
Manager (Has to Be An Ex Pro That Was Clean Or Has Reformed)
Main Nationality:
Secondary Nationality (Max. of 3)
To make sure that the sport is more multi national we have decided to pass a rule so that their can be a maximum of two teams from the same country in each division. Also there must be a team from each continent, therefore making the cycling world truly multi national.
We hope you are interested in joining our cause and trying to help refound cycling.
Thanks
Joe Armstrong,
LPC President

PCM 14 Database:
- Database 1 : https://www.dropb...r.cdb?dl=0
- Database 2 : https://www.dropb...2.cdb?dl=0
Excel Database:
As you can see there are two databases this is to make it easier for myself and jandal as we are trying to use some of the races from the members database to add something different to the racing.

Hmm, are those stats for real? Yates bros, Senechal, Mullen, Hussein, is this a joke?

The game is set in 2018 and features all of the best young cycling talent.
then again, most people would probably not first ask about what people think, then go by only one person's opinion, which isn't even a convincing "yes do this, seems good" type of reply and go ahead and create an sign-up thread (nothing wrong here) an adverstising thread (ehhh okay, might be better when you're about to start) and a specific account (LOL!!!!!!, you can't be serious!).
and all because someone said that "nothing wrong with more story games but" and remember, this is the same guy that thought Mars had some good ideas

No we were going to try and launch it no matter what people said I just wanted to try and gage interest, the specific account wont be used, but the stats aren't supposed to be accurate to today as it's set in 2018, so anything could happen in the many years.

Well, I know it's set in 2018 and I like the idea, it's just that some riders (the ones I mentioned) are world stars, while others like Stuyven, De Bie, Vliegen, Lampaert and most of all Tiesj Benoot are worse then what the are in 2015 (and that's just some random Belgians I checked). I mean, it's a bit too much fanboyism for some riders in my opinion. Adam Yates is just ridiculous

I'll admit some stats are a bit high as I just edited my database for The Yates Brothers database a bit, but any stat changes will be taken into account and changed. I think the Yates brothers deserve the high stats after their first few years, especially Simon who did amazingly at the Dauphine just as Adam did last year.

I didn't mean it like that I just meant that we were going to launch it anyway as I knew we'd have some interest in the idea as I've had people ask me if I was going to try it again. I'll admit the words came out wrong, but yeah it does matter what people think, so I just hope everyone agrees with mine and jandals ideas.

I have concerns over the DB, now that i know it's based on the Yates Bro story DB it makes more sense. But for me it's too middle ground. Either go full realism and use a 2015 DB or go full fantasy and use something without any real riders or one that's set in 2025. This DB is just an awkward mix that unfortunately has a strong sense of fanboyism.
I'd also like to know a lot more about what i would do as a management company owner. I pick a name, Manager (why can't i be the manager of my own company? Not all DS's etc are ex-cyclists you know), nationalities. Then what? Do i get to create a team realtively freely or will i be picking one of five choices given to me at various points? Because as a management company you'd install the team manager and basically all decisions go through them with the company just laying out guidelines to try and stay between.
Basically, tell me more about how the game works please!
(and i would sign-up a team but i won't be around for the set-up phase)

Well you set up a management team, and then myself and jandal will send you 3 offers from different sponsors who are interested in your team. The manager is just to make sure its a real person really rather than people just using their username to make it a bit more realistic.
The initial sponsors offer will be a sponsor name and budget, therefore you can choose which one you like, however the more a company offers you the more requests it will put in, such as required riders or target races. I hope this will give a more realistic feel but still sets up a fantasy game,
Once the sponsor offer have been given out (and this will probably take a few weeks depending on the speed of sign up ) the transfers will commence, to start with it'll be a blind auction, meaning you submit a list of riders and the maximum wage you would wish to pay for each. The top 3 bids will then get to increase their bid and the best bid gets the rider. There will be a few rounds of this, and throughout this you will be able to trade riders between teams, as well as this like the Man Game you will be able to loan riders between teams.
As well as this depending on the amount of sign ups we may decide to offer the chance to set up development teams.
Moreover teams will have to have no more than 5% of their riders aged over 35, this is an initiative set up by the LPC to make sure that the drugs culture that the older riders experienced comes back into the sport. As well as this teams must have at least 5% of their riders aged over 23.
After the transfer season the racing will start with every team having to ride certain races which will make up the WorldTour. (However we are yet to decide the calender.)
As for the database if you all recommend stat changes then I will change them as I recognise that one persons view does be biased towards certain riders.
Also if you do want to sign up, we can always just give you a sponsor as it will probably be a few weeks before we start the transfers properly as we need to set up Calender and sponsor and stuff first. Otherwise if you have any further questions just ask.

I think it would work better if you take the current DB, fastforward to 2018 and then use those stats. The Yates brothers will still be strong, just not as rudiculous as they are now, and all young riders will be developped properly.

Is there a way you can fast foward though and get the stat upgrades as that's why I edited the database because I didn't know if you could get it to progress people naturally. I mean using a career the progression isn't consistent.

So if anyone has any recommendations in how we should edit the database, i.e any stat changes for the current database then post them here and we'll consider them.
