I always play Hard, normal is a bit too easy and the thing with Extreme is that I get the idea that the AI is cheating on me, e.g on extreme your leader tends to fall more and sometimes the AI is able to attack and attack and attack while your guy can barely hang on. And with hard it's not too easy not too difficult and I find the results on hard more realistic than results on normal or Xtreme

So it is mostly about..AI activity...? What about manager part..hire youngsters, riders get secondary sponsors etc.? |

I dont think that that has anything to do with the managing part, only has to do with the ingame part

Ok thanks..why I am asking..In Fifa 2007 it is all clear..in harder level...you get tired faster..opponent play faster, defence harder. In PCM they started to just attack..attack and now I am confused in wich level I should play. |

The major change with difficulty levels is that your opponents get increases in stats:
+1 on hard and +2 on extreme.
Not sure about easy, I think that's minus one for every stat for opponents.
I don't think the AI changes greatly, Cyanide can't be bothered to do it, but they may chase you if you are in breaks more often on Extreme

doesn't extreme mean -5 recovery for your guys?
I thought it did. can't say where I picked up that from, though

in summary the harder the difficulty the better the other riders get and can also attack for longer (on extreme, about 5km) |

Then my sprint skills are even more hopless..even on normal Petacchi and boys gos wild and long..even looks like giving s.t. in result list to peloton seems unfair. Sprints are issue where Cyanide needs improvments. |

quite honestly, I find morale to be a bigger problem.
if you have a contender for the Tour, and you train him as should be (just one form peak, at the Tour), he'll get there depressed, since his morale drops when he participates in stage races that he doesn't win.
that part is just stupid. Why would a Tour de France contender get depressed if he doesn't win a stage race in may when he's still off-form?
definitely needs to be improved...

yes i agree morale is a big problem i hope it is improved, especially if you get promoted then the next season all your riders are depressed, why would they be depressed at getting promoted (i think that one was fixed with a patch but they've hopefully fixed it in the original game this time) |

Agreed. For the same reason, I have used Save Game Editors a lot |

I haven't had the same problem with morale as the rest of you folks. I'm not sure why although I think that good GC riders get upset if they are put into supporting roles. So if you have two stars racing the TdF and you are using one of them to protect the other in a mountain stage, the protector will get pissed off. So usually I keep my roles clear for the riders and I don't use the superstars for supporting roles. That keeps their morale manageable.
The thing about the stats is that on hard and extreme, I have read that enemy riders get +1 and +2 boosts in all of their stats. But it doesn't show up when you look at their stats in the game (e.g., Petacchi will have an 83 Sprint stat displayed in both Normal and Hard). So if they do get this benefit, it is hidden. Certainly though, their performance is much better.
Like Addy, I have good success in Hard in Sprints although it took me a long time to figure out how to do it. The crux of this though is that on Hard mode, you reallly need excellent riders to compete. If you are sprinting, I find you need a guy with 80 Sprint to be competitive. You can't get away with winning stage races with weak riders like you can in Normal mode. I found the jump from Normal to Hard mode to be quite difficult and I got frustrated several times before I was able to figure out how to win. But now I only play Hard mode because it provides a good challenge and, as was mentioned previously, it gives realistic final results. |

i personally find Hard mode easier to play than Normal mode, i know it sounds stupid but i seem to be winning more races on Hard than i did on Normal (and i am now playing with a weaker team than i did on Normal) |
