So, with most of the teams having renewed their riders (please hurry if you need to do this ), we can move on to the draft. The first round will be for all teams (minus Drapac) and it will be the team with the lowest points last season (Caja Rural) that can go first.
Any rider in the 2014 DB (excel file of that was posted here earlier) is availabe. Your sponsor would like to see someone from his own nation of course!
So, some examples of who is available: 1) Riders not in a WT/PCT team in 2013 (Arredondo, Bennett), 2) Riders returning after doping suspension (Frank Schleck), 3) Youth riders (Ewan, Mohoric, Yates brothers) 4) Fired riders (like Rick Flens for Belkin) 5) All riders that did not get a contract extention.
Two exceptions for drafting though: Drapac will be a PCT team next year, so their riders are excluded from the draft. Secondly, riders that would fall in the star or superstar category are excluded as well, you need to buy them.
TMM posted a short list as well if you have no names left.

Natural progress:
A rider aged 18-21 will receive 2 (different) stat upgrades that have not been updated before
A rider aged 22-26 will receive 1 stat upgrade that has not been updated before
Stats cannot be raised above 80 this way, nor are riders with a stat of 80 or higher eligible for this (excluding fighter and downhill as usual).
Decline:
A rider aged 34+ will lose 1 point in every stat of 75 or higher
A rider aged 36+ will lose 1 point in every stat of 70 and higher
A rider aged 38+ will lose 1 point in every stat They are to be combined, so for example a 39 year old will drop from 76 to 73 and from 69 to 68, while a 37 year old will drop from 77 to 75 and from 72 to 71.
Please use a list from young to old like:
Caleb Ewan (20) SPR 73 Hill 70
Adam Yates (22) Hill 74
...
Niko Eeckhout (45) SPR 71, ACC 70; COBB 69 etc

First of all, this is excluding custom riders, they have no part in this.
There are 3 categories of riders: Normal riders - max stat up to 77 (excluding fighter and downhill as usual), Stars - max stat up to 79 and Superstars - highest stat 80 or higher. The price to re-sign those riders will be different.
Furthermore, Superstar clashes like Valverde and Quintana will need to be addressed. I will give you their opinions and you will have to send me a reply to explain their schedule so that they both can be happy. If I’m not convinced, one of the riders will leave the team. The proposed schedule must of course be followed.
An example can be that a heavily upgraded Evans wants to lead le Tour, while Van Garderen want to lead a GT as well. BMC could then reply that Van Garderen will do Giro/Vuelta and Evans would get Tour leadership, and both riders would be happy and stay.
All normal riders not re-signed in this round, will be available for drafting. All stars or superstars not signed will have to be signed with free agency.
Now, for the renewing, I want you to make a neat table like this one.

Step 1: List all your riders in the first column alphabeticaly by last name. Don't get the custom riders in, but do include all others, whether you want to re-sign them or not.
Step 2: List all their stats above 77 in the second column, but as said above Downhill and Fighter don't count. If a stat is 80 or higher (superstar), I want you to bold it as well. If there are no stats above 77, just write "none". Remember that the last upgrades round are counting here, don't forget any stats or suffer punishments!
Step 3: Count out how much each rider is and put that number in column 3. If you're using excel (which I recommend), you can put a =sum-formula at the bottom to count out the total for you. If not, you will have to add it manualy. Make sure you don't go over your budget!
The fee to re-sign a rider is calculated as follows:
- Normal rider costs 5000 for a WT team and 2000 for a CT team. However, for the CT teams, should he have a stat of 76 or 77, he's WT material and you'll have to pay 5000 as well.
- If your rider is above 77 with one of his main stats (MOUNTAIN, HILL, COBBLE, SPRINT, TT and RECOVERY) it will cost you extra for each of those stats, this is for both WT and CT.

However, you should also look at how many stats in total (minus fighter and downhill) are above 77, and multiply that total with 1,x (x being the number of stats above 77). I know this isn't easy to understand, so I'll add a few examples from Belkin.
- Luis Leon Sanchez, we all love him. He's 80 downhill, 84 fighter, but otherwise pretty useless. Luckily for me, those 2 stats don't count or he would've been a very expensive rider. He has no other stats above 77, so he's 5000 for me as a World Tour team.
- Jack Bobridge, what's up mate? No high stats for you, eh mate? You'll be 5000 as well.
- Wilco Kelderman, I gave him 78 Mountain in the last progress round, so that will cost me 10000. Just one stat over 77, so x 1,1 that's 11000.
- Bauke Mollema I took his Mountain and Hill stats up to 79, so that's 2x 20000. But since that makes 2 stats above 77, I will also have to use the multiplier. 40000 x 1,2 = 48000
- Mark Renshaw, no major stat above 77, but he does has a 78 ACC. That means it's 5000 x 1,1 = 5500 for you mate!
- Sep Vanmarcke, another one I upgraded to an increased cost. Natural progress got him to 80 Cobble, making him a Superstar (I should bold that stat when putting him in my table!), but he also has 79 Stamina. So 40000 for him initialy, but I have to multiply it by 1,2 because of his 2 stats over 77, so he costs 48000.
If you don't want to extend a rider's contract, just put 0 in Column 3.
You can also use the WAIT rule. Type "WAIT" if you lack budget to re-sign a rider, but want to sign him later on with money you earn in the transfer period. You can only do that with 1 rider and you will have to pay him 10% more.
