What a crazy match. Even though most of you wouldn't care about a soccer match between Denmark and Sweden, I'm sure thie details of the match will make you a little interested.
Sweden started off by scoring 3 goals in 25 minutes. Denmark played an amazing second half and scored 3 goals and had two huge chances for scoring another goal. Then, for whatever reason, one of Denmark's players, Christian Poulsen (playing in Sevilla, Spain) hits a Swedish player in the penalty box. The assistant referee sees it, tells it to the referee - and that results in a red card for Poulsen and a penalty to Sweden. But at the very same moment, a Danish hooligan runs unto the pitch and is very close at hitting the referee.
He stops the match - and few minutes later, Denmark has lost the match 0-3. Problem is that he / they can't decide that by themselves. Only UEFA can do that after some meetings. It's just crazy.. |

UEFA has now declared that an official result hasn't been decided yet. As I said, they couldn't decide that themselves. |

it's definitely a big deal.
from the moment that happened until the end of the game, the commentators of Belgium-Portugal didn't talk of anything else...

I am very embarrassed to be danish atm.
2 idiots smashing a great game My happiness were up ringing the bell, and now, i'm kind of empty inside
REALLY embarrassing
As said by John Dahl Thomasson, this has nothing to do, at all, with football

the ironic bit was that the commentators of the Belgium - Portugal were commenting on how "this loss of temper would never have happened if, for instance, the players were scandinavian, who are much cooler people" (yes, a stereotype, I know)
That discussion was interrupted by - you guessed it - the news of what had happened in Denmark
Usually I would've laughed, but....I was just stunned (admittedly I was mostly stunend at the coincidence)

don't think anyone will think less of the danes because of that...it's just one idiot...and idiots are aplenty everywhere, unfortunately.
in fact, see it as proof of your fans' good behaviour that that guy didn't have to cross any barriers to get to the pitch.
in many countries, the fans are so misbehaved, barriers are mandatory.

Well, the newspaper I read had the headline "EM-SKANDALEN" ( the euro championship scandal ) freely translated. They are quite harsh really, but they only blame the involved people.
