Okay all, now that the major work of making the PCMdaily Expansion Pack is done, I'm ready to start playing. Obviously I'll be using the PCMdaily EP for this career. All races will be played on hard difficulty and I will simulate NCs with small fields and short TTTs since the game has issues with those races.

One unique rule I'll be enforcing on myself is that I am only 1 person, and thus I cannot be in the car for races going on at the same time and must choose one, and can only give my team a strategy for races I'm not at. (Must use the auto for the full race).

To answer other questions, yes I will try to stream for major events or when I'm bored enough, though I do want to be very cautious about it, as I tend lose interest if I have to go back and write 5 reports because I streamed those stages.

Pre-Season Training Camp : Mallorca, Spain

Very little can do more to bring a team together than some time in the beautiful Balearic Isles, and the team got to spend six days in early January to get back into shape. For some that will be more important than others, notably Cadel Evans who has a national championship to contest soon. With him will be a handful of riders going to the Tour Down Under that will see their seasons start off quick as well.

The team would get to the roads though quickly, starting with just a slow tempo, letting the teammates socialize a bit, get comfortable and get to know the staff. I think most enjoyed their time under the Mediterranean Sun, though the temperature was still a bit chilly.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/02.jpg

Later in the camp the team would be put under a bit more strenuous tempo as the riders are able to string out the group a bit and really put some work into their legs, the cool weather seemed to be less of an issue as muscles got warmed up.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/03.jpg

But before leaving they would get in one more casual ride to enjoy together, Thor Hushovd and Michael Schär showing off their national championship jerseys in the group. The team will split up for now, going their own ways, Evans will head down to Australia quickly. Joining him later for the Santos Tour Down Under will be Dillier, Hushovd, Kohler, Lodewyck, Quinziato, and Warbasse.

Ballarat: 37 kms - Flat

The first ride of the year goes to the Australian Time-trial and relatively flat course of 37km. There are two time checks along the route for the riders to get a grasp of how they are doing which will become more important later in the day as the top riders leave the start house.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusTT1.jpg

Cadel Evans would take to the road on his BMC Timemachine TM02, but would have a day he'd soon like to forget finishing a disappointing 18th almost four minutes back of the winner.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusTT2.jpg

The top three though would be only separated by 17 seconds as Michael Rogers of Tinkoff - Saxo puts in a time of 41'06".
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusTT3.jpg

The turbo on Luke Durbridge would get him a second place for Orica GreenEdge as he would better Rogers by five seconds finishing at 41'01".
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusTT4.jpg

But it would be the young Rohan Dennis who takes the crown as the only man under 41 minutes finishing impressively in 40'49" getting a first win for himself and Garmin - Sharp.

Australian Championship
January 12th, 2014
Buninyong – Buninyong: 16.2 kms - Hilly

The Australian Road Race Championship is a circuit several times around Buninyong creating a very hilly profile ripe with opportunity for a puncher to attack. Some teams will be able to field very large squads while others like BMC only have one rider.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusRR1.jpg

There would be several attempts at a breakaway but Orica was not letting anything large go, so in the end only one man would separate from the field. Benjamin Johnson would ride the long course alone at the front for the vast majority of the day as one of eight riders on the large Drapac squad.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusRR2.jpg

The field would keep quiet most of the day until the last curcuit when Simon Gerrans decided to get it started, the marks would come from Sky's Richie Porte, BMC's Cadel Evans and Lotto's Adam Hansen, though none would be able to stay with him.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/NC/AusRR3.jpg

It would seem to be a relatively easy win for Gerrans as Porte and breakaway man Benjamin Johnson claim the other two spots on the podium. Adam Hanson would get fourth while Gerrans teammate Michael Matthews would round out the top five, sprinting past Cadel Evan after sitting on while the BMC man chased.

Santos Tour Down Under
January 21st – 26th, 2014
DS: Kentaurus
Pre-Race Guide

The World Tour's opening race as seen itself evolve from a sprinters haven to favor more of a puncher through the last few years. This year has a good mix of both and some stages will require both. Stage three could have some impact on the GC, but expect the winner to be crowned on stage five up Old Willunga Hill.

Team Goals

We come with a strong team, and the only Australian Tour de France winner ever. Clearly the goal is for Evans to win the overall, and we would like to see the aging Thor Hushovd get a win, at least finishing high in the sprints. Also this is the first race for neo-pro Silvan Dillier and he will be counted on to provide strong support for both Evans and Hushovd.

Santos Tour Down Under
January 21st, 2014 : Stage 1
Nuriootpa – Angaston: 136.7 kms - Flat

Stage one of the Santos Tour Down Under is listed as flat, but a sharp climb near the finish and an uphill rise to the line make this profile likely more suited to the punchers and a small group sprint for the line.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/11.jpg

A first shot at the breakaway is started by our own Manuel Quinziato however after spending a few kilometers out front the peloton led by Tinkoff - Saxo brought it back.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/12.jpg

In the confusion of the breakaway being brought back, a lone rider, Europcar's Christophe Kern launches his own attack, he is later joined by BMC's Martin Kohler, who would take the win for the intermediate sprint.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/13.jpg

A late surge though by Kern would do enough to hold off the field while he claimed the only KoM points on the day and would secure the polka dots for tomorrow.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/14.jpg

The sprint would be chaotic as expected, a mix of GC riders and tired sprinters all struggling for the line. Surging at the front is BMC's Thor Hushovd in his Norwegian Champion's jersey, with Tinkoff - Saxo's Daniele Bennati at his wheel.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/15.jpg

It would be Bennati getting the win ahead of late-coming Simon Clarke for Orica, followed by Hushovd and Evans of BMC. Garmin-Sharp's David Millar would round out the top five.

Cadel will be disappointed with his ride at the Australian TT Championships Sad, but hopefully he will come good in the Tour Down Under Smile

Dusen
Knowing Evans this season starter surely ain't what he had expected, he will be motivated to do better Wink

Santos Tour Down Under
January 22nd, 2014 : Stage 2
Prospect – Stirling: 150.1 kms - Flat

A small trio of riders would breakaway early, but the struggle would be persistent for them and before the halfway point of the race, they would all be brought back into the peloton. The riders, Jonas Vangenecten of Lotto, Ángel Vicioso for Katusha and Staf Clement of Belkin. Lampre's Kristijan Durasek would bridge across and get some KoM points. While Clement would have a rough day and would be dropped back to the peloton after being unable to stay with the group on the first climb.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/23.jpg

With the breakaway pulled back, BMC would push up the firepower for the second intermediate sprint and its coveted bonus seconds. Silvan Dillier would lead out Thor Hushovd Cadel Evans as the team sweeps the points.
i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/Centaursunder/BMC/2014/TDU/22.jpg

The finish though would be a repeat of yesterday as Tinkoff-Saxo's Daniele Benatti takes his second stage easily ahead of Orica's Simon Clarke and Omega Pharma's Jan Bakelants.
