We are starting week 2 of the Tour and we are in lovely departments of Jura and Ain!
Today's stage is similar to the one that finished in Gérardmer although it doesn't end with a climb. 3 3 Category climbs, short but steep. Breakaway specialists will be licking their lips for this stage.
Watch out for the descent to Oyonnax it's very difficult and technical perhaps someone who is very good at descending can attack there and win the stage!

Only way i see this not being a breakaway win is if Sagan wants a victory.
But even then, it looks quite hard for his team to control this stage, he might need some help, perhaps from Orica ?
Either way i think this stage will be very entertaining |

This is tougher than I initially thought with uncategorised climbing as well relatively significant climbs hidden by cat 3 labels. Apparently a pot holed, gravelly climb near the end too with a similar descent...
Into the territory of Gerrans/Albasini and Sagan if it can be controlled, though they could just as well go for the break option too. Could be an interesting post rest day.

I think this stage is too hard for Sagan and certainly too hard for weak Cannondale team. |

It might be too hard for Cannondale, but definately not for Sagan.
I will bet my brain and say Gallopin.

Majority is not calculating with chance that Sagan will jump into the break, rather than relying on his team. I think he will try it for sure, but if he suceeds is another question.
But i dont think the stage is too hard for him, he won stages like that in the past and last downhill could be ideal for him, when it is technical enough.

I don't see a break with Sagan in it being let go by teams like OGE who would be targeting a stage like this
Hells 500 Crew and 6 x Everester
Don Rd Launching Place
Melbourne Hill Rd Warrandyte
Colby Drive Belgrave South
William Rd The Patch
David Hill Rd Monbulk
Lakeside Drive Emerald

Tough thing is that not many riders will want to work in a break with Sagan. Because who wants their ass kicked at the finish after working for 150 km? |

I agree guys. Because of that i said he will try, but probably without success. Sagan should be already used to situation when nobody works with him, as it is usual stuff.

If Sagan does get in a break and OGE have someone there too it might happen. Not unreasonable for people to think they could maybe drop him on the climbs and not carry him to the finish even if the reality may prove very different. |

I am biased of course but I think Vanmarcke could go for it today. Slagter will try to get in BOTD aswell. Probably a BOTD win or a puncheur like Gerrans or van Avermaet. |
