Background
The Italian teams are popping up in the lower rankings, but none of them seems willing to take the risk they need. We will. Our goal is to continue the great Italian cycling traditions and combine it with talents from all over the world.
The sponsors
Diadora is an Italian clothing company. It was founded in 1948 and they started as shoe creators, but their sale exploded in the 70s. Today it sponsors several known athletes and clubs.
Diadora isn't 100% in this project yet, so it's our job to make them go all in. Because Diadora is concerned with story, we'll have to make sure to always have Italian riders in the team.
Spar was founded in 1932 and is a dutch retail. It has approx 12,500 stores worldwide. It joined this service for the commercial ways, but it is an important sponsor. It doesn't require much of us, except the logo on the jersey.
Mapei is also Italian, but unlike Diadora they are specialized at building materials, even some chemicals. Mapei is already sponsoring a cycling team, but Giorgio Squinzi, CEO of Mapei, is vert interested in road racing, so he decided to invest in this team.
Fiat's owner is also a cycling-fan. This year he have luckily for us, to support us. Fiat will not sponse us with money, but rather it covers the travel costs and they also have our team car.
7-eleven is an American company. For 7-eleven it's really important for us to have American riders who can stay in the world top. Because of the size (approx 50 000 stores) the company is very important in american races.

Spoiler Matthew Busche
Matthew Busche is our best stage racer. He's a decent TTist and a good climber. He might not be at top in the WT stage races, but on 2nd highest class he's favourite. Matt brings some important experience to this young team, even at the age of 28
Damiano Cunego
Damiano Cunego is together with Matt the best climber. He have the most amazing palmares, with a Giro at the top. He have been sponsed by Diadora until this season, where he will ride for us. Damiano is 32 years and is a very
experienced rider. We hope this to not be another disappointing season for him disappointing
Raimondo De Filippi
This is Italy's biggest talent at the moment. On the age of only 20 years, Raimondo is one of the strongest sprinters in Italy. He will be hoping to win some stages in the Giro this year, maybe even the points jersey.
Marco Marcato
Another rider of Veneto. Marco will be looking for some top 10 results in the Ardeeners classics. He is a good all round cyclist who is often winning from breakaways.
Herve Laudé
This is our best cobbler, and he's only aged 20! Along with cobbles Herve is a decent sprinter, so in a small group for the finish, he'll be the man to watch. Hevre is our only French rider, but we wish him very welcome

Italian newspaper claims to know about Diadora's future team. Diadora seems willing to give Emanuele Sella a contract worth about 8,000 euro.
The same paper also tells that Matthew Busche leaves Trek with intermediate effect. Diadora and United Healthcare seems to be fighting for the 28 year old stage racer. He is being offered a contract as captain with both teams.
Aswell as this, Diadora is also linked with Francesco Masciarelli. The Italian has no team at the moment, and says that he is open for teams who would use him in a leader role

Diadora given Pro Continental License
This morning it was clear. Diadora has been given the Pro Continental licences they've wanted so bad. UCI said they got it because of a too big salary for a continental license.
With this announcement, Diadora has also confirmed that they have signed Damiano Cunego. Cunego have been sponsed by Diadora in about 10 years. Roumors also tell they have signed Marcato. Both these are riders from Veneto, where also Diadoras headquarter lies
10:36 - Deadline!
Deadline for the signing is at 11:00 today. Troop presentations will begin just after

Sponsor goal: 5th overall
Favourites for green jersey
*** Belletti
*** De Filippi
*** Kreder
** Appollonio
** Steegmans
**Drucker
Overall favourites:
*** R.Dennis
*** R.Bardet
*** S. Sanchez
** L.P. Nordhaug
** B.Jungles
** Bakelants
** I.Anton
There are several other names I could have mentioned here, but I choose these. It's because of the MO and HIL stages. I could mentioned several more riders, but I think of these as the strongest. But who knows if they are in form. This is our first race of the season, and we'll fight hard for Raimondo (De Filippi)s' jersey

The profile of this race is uphill in the start, but then easy downhill towards the end.
Because we had ordered our jerseys late, today we had to borrow a set. It was white with 2 red stripes on the back
The BOTD formed early in the stage, it consisted of
M.Golas(QPQ)
C.Lemonie (COF)
P.Voss (TNE)
At the most they had 8minutes on the peleton.
P.Voss took won first sprint, while Golas won the second.
The break was caught with 2.5 km left, and under the flame rouge Belletti had the lead
But with 500 m to go, Belletti was dead, De Filippi was in the lead!!!
No one was close to challenge him! What a moment in his career.
Mark the name Raimondo De Filippi
forgot to export

Tour de San Luis | Stage 2
Another flat stage, but now as we got the yellow jersey it's our job to pull the pack. So on this stage, De Filippi is only rated as an outsider. Our jersey is still not ready, but we hope to get it ready before our next race.
Todays BOTD consisted of
M.Golas(QPQ)
E.Garcia(COF)
E.Alafaci(TFR)
Garcia won the KOTM in front of Golas and Alafaci. Garcia also took the first sprint, while Golas won the 2nd spint.
1,5km to go and Garcia who has left his companions got a 19sec lead to the sprinting pack, where Wanty got the only sprint train. De Filippi is on Duques wheel, 4th pos.
Flame rouge, Garcia still have a small lead to Kreder. De Filippi is at the back with Belletti.
500m left and it's man vs man. Belletti vs De Filippi
Aaaand the winner is...
Belletti. He timed his sprint much better than yesterday, and beat De Filippi with half a meter. But what's important is that De Filippi can keep his jersey for another day. But tomorrow is with some big climbs, and De Filippi is not the best climber
