PCM14/15: Wishlist
Rin
Here you can list your ideas for PCM15.

But instead of simple dimple "Moar teams" shout outs for example, this should be a more serious attempt so every idea with those requirements fulfilled will get listed and will get to Cyanide.

Idea : Feed Zone/Another Gel
Explaination of idea: The riders will automaticly get 1 bottle and another gel from the 'feed zone' It will not shown in the 3D, (maybe team assistants without moving, cyanide's choice)
Why : It makes the game more realistic. Riders will get 1 bottle without wanting from team car. And riders use 2+ gels in real life but in PCM there is just one. With this another gel like in real life you can attack more than 1 time in race.

Idea:
more attribute variation and more training effects

Explaination of idea:
What I mean with attribute variation is pretty easy. Decrease attributes when they don`t get trained.
Cancellara is one of the best cobble riders, but if he is not doing anything to keep his high ability on cobbles his cobble attribute will decrease.
Give the rider personal trainings like 70% hill 20% endurance and 10% sprint and if a rider don't want to be transformed into a specific type of rider for example Contador a GT rider doing 100% cobble training he should say something like: "I don't want to become a Nordern classic rider." And if you ignore it the moral go down. On the other side he needs it for the Tour 2014 so you can go 30% mountain 20% time trail and 50% cobble and he may say it's OK.
And the higher the attributes become the harder it is to build them up, also on the other side the higher the attributes are the quicker they decrease.

Why:
It would be a great future for the managing part. You can create a lot of various training plans and you have more influence on the cyclist evolution.
You also then have to specialize on a ceratin race type and not win every single race with one cyclist no matter if it's a sprint, a mountain stage or a cobble race.

Idea: New attribute for team time trials and for lead outs.
Explaination of idea: Make new attributes to give the game a new side. For example, Orica always wins the TTT's, but I haven't experienced it once in the game myself. And to give lead out stats as it will give the game a whole new side. Renshaw sucks in sprints, but is the best leadout man in the world (or on of the bests).
Why: To make the game more realistic and give the user a small edge in 3D mode.

Idea:
more personal options in menu: on/off options, checkboxes, frequencies, etc...

Explaination of idea:
We all know the discussion of fall downs of leaders and so on.
So why not give everyone an option/slider to set the frequency of crashes.
Including on/off options for trading, sponsor contracts, rider evolutions, etc,... This may sound ridiculous, but it's just an option and I personally don't want to see WT Teams not existing anymore and play with fantasy teams after a couple of years.
Also some options for the gameplay to stop/pause the race if a leader/important rider or cyclist of your choice got a mechanical problem, crashed or started an attack. Especially when you are on flat stages and on speed 8x you quickly can get into problems if you don't be attentive.

Why:
This would give everone the chance to play the game the way they want to. And with this you can't do anything wrong it is an option and can be used.

Idea: Auto result save
Explaination of idea: Race results to be automatically saved in to a folder, especially for those story writers who sometimes forget to export results
Why : There is nothing worse than playing a career and you forget to export result at the end of a race, if it happens automatically it would save a lot of hassle.

Idea: Communication with Riders and Sponsors throughout Season
Explanation of Idea:
Consistent pop-ups or messages from Sponsors and Riders informing you about upcoming races, rider form, registered riders... etc. (Similar to Fifa, I know they dont wanna be like them but they have a solid career mode)

For Sponsor, a interim report, perhaps every month or so they can update you on your performance and the upcoming goals, let you know what kind of riders they would like to see registered at specific races. Along with it comes an estimation of budget for the next year according to the goals you have achieved or failed. EG. If you have won all goals set by your sponsor in April then they could say 'according to the results so far we are very happy with your performance and your budget is set to increase by 10% for next season.'

For riders, before you have to confirm your calendar, riders could notify you if there are certain races they would like to participate in or about their training program (whether they need to be more fit or rest).

Why:
Easy, a lot more depth in career. You can actually see your progress throughout the year. You can actually manage riders morale and sponsor satisfaction.

Idea:
Calendar and News Center

Explanation:
Calendar - bring it back! Easier to see how many rest days you have between races. Easier time management. Very important feature to manage my riders fitness. Easier access on the career 'homepage' than by navigating through to the calendar.

News Center- sorry another Fifa like idea haha the news center (located in one of the windows on the current career 'homepage' ) will post all the news which currently come from emails. This avoids the countless emails that usually get deleted anyways. The news center can be split up into Upcoming races and teams that are taking part, Results Transfer and scouting news, and Rider information (injuries, goals, form..) Those are 'permanent' (Perhpaps deleted every month or after completion of corresponding race) news and I can always go back to check the latest news in the cycling world instead of getting a super full inbox!

Why:
News center de-clutters the inbox. Emails become actually imprtant (as you only get important emails that need to be read). Easy access on news of the cycling world. Great way to keep up-to-date without searching the career page/or emails for info

Idea: The olympic race

Explanation: Adding the Olympic race to the race calender every 4th year so the riders can compete to win one of the rarest titles in cycling. Would be very special

Why: It's not a huge thing, but it would be great to compete for that title every 4th year in R.R and I.T.T.

You get to manage the same team that you had at the world championship.

Bonus You could also extend it so u23 men also competed for the medals. Not sure if they have world championships atm. but i think adding these special events to the u23 calendar would be a great addition as well.

Idea:
Add ALL national RR and ITT

Explanation:
Add all national races to the race calendar so if you have Cancellara you get to play the ITT with him, or if you have a guy from Costa Rica, then you can play the stage to secure the jersey for him

Why:
I simply don't understand why this haven't been done. Whats even more silly is when you can ride the Australian or Swiss RR but not their ITT - Come on pls. If its because you simply don't have enough riders, then maybe PCM should release their game with a few more Contenantial teams.

I think PCM have been slagging in this particular area for to long.

idea: ability to change team sponsors/jerseys throughout the management career

Explanation: Long term sponsors are rare in Pro cycling, it would make the game more realistic, and make managers fight to keep sponsors, furthermore advertise themselves to new sponsors (like Belkin at this years tour)

Why:Like we see in Pro cycling, team sponsors pull out and new teams are created. Some people will play more than one season, and its not that realistic to believe that team sponsors will stick around forever. Also if you constantly do not keep your sponsors happy they can walk away. I think that if they limit the create teams at the beginning to say 3 from each major country, then have another 3/4 teams in reserve. Obviously made up companies, or like we have now. Or simply give us a blank template jerseys and allow sponsors to be added by the player. Then like the equipment feature in this years game we can bit and choose team sponsors based on location? money available? sponsors objectives?

Idea: Break will work with multiple riders from the same team in it

Explanation of idea: currently no team tries to place more then one rider in the break and if you put more then one rider in a break then the others won't co-operate with you.

Why (No one word or some word posts): it happens in real life. Europcar had 2 riders in the break on stage 4 of the Tour de France and there were 2 Orica riders in the break on stage 5 and both times the break actually decided to work and not just sit up or keep attacking itself like it does on PCM.

Idea: U23 calendar for playing with it

Explanation of idea and Why: Really? Im surprised no one asked this before, the U23 calendar, teams, etc, will bring more realism to the game, and its a choice for those who want to do something different

Idea:
Better Sponsor relations + feedback.

Explanation:
Increase detail in sponsor objectives, feedback. Improve recognition for the team achievements in races that aren't set as objectives and more feedback in general. Football manager does this very well (board feedback and interaction) I think Londoner touched on a similar idea above.
Also, recognition for sponsor exposure during races, not just results - i.e. heroic breakaways + combativity.

Why:
Teams should get some recognition for good results in lesser races, too often a good win with a world tour team goes unrecognised in a race like Strade Bianchi etc. Also, in real life, some sponsors would be happy with their logo in front of the camera each stage in the breakaway. Look at the impact of the likes of Tony Martin's big near miss with that long break in the Vuelta 13 - so much coverage in the cycling world, yet would've achieved nothing in PCM. Maybe as one potential objectve. Important for smaller teams.

I like that Dee-Jay!

Idea:
Deeper Rider Management. Follow-up on earlier idea. (Links to transfers)

Explanation:
In general the game lacks some rider management, especially interactions with riders. Following up my point above about the rider pop-ups, I believe, there should be a lot more interactions with riders throughout the season.
1) Deeper Morale System. Have riders interact with you throughout the season with 'Pop-ups'. Where they can let you know about up-coming races where they would like to take part in, fitness, happiness, transfers, contract,... where you need to make strategic choices to grant your riders their wishes to keep them happy or to ignore them to win sponsor goals.
2) Link wages to morale, discuss with rider through season. (becomes important for transfers)
3) Link rider role to morale, adjust through season. Similar to PCM 2006 you should be able to assign rider roles that affect their morale. Have a variety of roles such as GC leader, classics, sprinter, helper, water carrier, talent... Ability to change throughout season. (Little impact, avoid bugs where water carriers get upset if they are not the leader)

With this deeper morale system then a more realistic transfer system can be created, which in my opinion should be based on 5 key factors: (Although I havent fully tested the transfer system in 14 yet)

Primary:
1) Happiness/Morale: A happy rider is unlikely to leave (since he would rather extend current contract, which will be shown in communications with you and the riders).
2) Team Prestige: A just promoted team should not attract big riders like Froome since Team Sky is very prestigious/famous, where he is the absolute leader.
3) Money: Money attracts any rider and if you offered enough money it can tempt a rider to sign, even if he's not a leader or fully happy.

Secondary (some other factors that should affect a transfer:
4) Offered role, team quality, team nationality: A British rider is less likely to go to a french team than a british team. A team leader would not accept a lesser role than his current, the overall quality of the team should also affect the choice of the rider. A weak team is less likely to attract stars.
5) "Phase" of rider: A young developing rider might join a weaker team where he can get more chances. A rider at his peak is likely to stay at top teams. Decline phase may the rider to choose lesser teams again.

These 5 factors (In that order) should determine the outcome of a transfer. Although not all 5 factors must be positive (the primary factors are key, but the secondary ones can also influence the transfer)

Why:
Morale system allows for a more engaging career.
Morale linked to transfers.
Transfers would be more realistic.

Idea: New Sponsor Goal System

Explanation:
The new sponsor goals system would have 5 'primary goals' using the current system. So in the beginning of the season you can negotiate those goals with your sponsor as you do in 2014. Those 5 primary goals are the key races for your sponsor throughout the year.

Then there is a list of 15-20 other races, including the 5 primary goals, which don't specify the result required, listed in order of importance. In those races your sponsor wants you to perform well, which is calculated by a matrix, which gives points for:

overall win, sprint jersey, mountain jersey, young rider, stage win, top 3, top 5, top 10, top 15, top 20, break-aways (group of 20 or less leading for at least 30km)...

For example, the overall win gets you 10points, a stage win 9, top 20 4 points and a break-away only 2...

Depending on your result of the race the matrix adds up all the points scored in that race and then gives you a rating of happiness of the sponsor, from excellent to fail. An overall win, would also guarantee excellent happiness. Only break-away appearances would result in fail (or just above) (even extra 'TV coverage' doesn't make sponsors happy)

Since the primary goals are also part of the 'secondary goals' list you can still score good happiness-points without achieving the primary goal. Perhaps, Contador gets injured, but you can still make your sponsor happy by winning stages or other jerseys (or worst case - break away appearances). This way if things don't go according to plan in a race (injuries, big form loss...) you can still make the sponsor 'happy' by winning stages or other jerseys. You see this all the time in real life, for example when the big leader is crashes out - (Froome at TDF) - the team changes strategy and maybe goes for Top 5 or Mountain jersey, break aways.....

I am no great mathematician, so I haven't developed a working matrix. The only thing that would have to be adjusted is the points scored for 1-day races and 3-week races.

Why:
Greater recognition of results
More realistic

Idea: 3D Training Mode

Explaination of idea: Must've surely been suggested before - a mode where you can practice scenarios like lead-out and sprint with your team or certain parts of stages (a bit like a reconnoitre of important climbs etc).

Why (No one word or some word posts): To allow you to hone tactics for parts of races without having to go through a full stage.

Naskela
1: I would really like of they slowed down the speed of the last 5-10 km mark in the sprints, it would make it easier and less stressful.

2: Realistic rider stats.

3: if let say Modolo wins San Remo it would be a chance he would ask for an increase in salary.

agreed i would like to see some discussion about objectives between sponsor and management
