It is also worth mentioning that the quality of play is abysmal. I went to watch Sydney FC (I guess my team by birth?) play Central Coast. FC were just awful. If Del Piero isn't playing well then they just have no ideas at all.
Well my favourite team Melbourne Heart has been bought out by my least favourite team - Manchester City. How? Don't ask me. Why? Don't ask me. At least we have $11 million to spend

I mentioned that in a post in the General Football News thread. It is a good thing for Heart because, well frankly, they suck. They have had a disastrous season.
And on Fox Sports the one City guy, not the Ceo I think, said they are making an academy in Manchester and are planning to do the same thing by making a training academy in Melbourne for youth. One cool thing for the Heart is they will be going to Manchester to the training vmcentre there, which should be good for them as a team. And apparently no changes with team management yet.
Yeah I'm actually all for it. Just that I hate City. Then again I can think of this in a professional view - because it's much easier this way to get to the Premier Leauge. Normally you get players in the A-League who are really good but overshadowed by the bad guys. This way, it's easier for people like me (not gloating ) to take the step up.

Who had the brilliant idea of founding ANOTHER Newcastle United? I bet they play in Black and White too?!
But seriously, is it any good? Just doesn't seem like the most interesting league.
No, they play in red and blue, and it's honestly a pretty shit league, which makes me embarrassed to live in the country with such a league and it may be my future .

It don't matter, the only thing the Airtricity League is good for is picking the worst team (Dundalk) and trying to beat Barca with them in fifa. This made Rafter a legend for a mate and me.

Be happy. At least you're not living in Serbia and watch JSL League (1st Serbian League).

Yeah, they're not even in fifa.
But thinking about it Belgrade is the captol city, right? So what about Partizan and Red Star then? They're quite allright, no?
Well , they are and that's the problem. They're only 2 clubs that are fighting for win and that's all. Partizan produced most of these players and future stars from Serbia that you're now watching in Europe (Mitrovic , Ljajic , Jovetic , all of these Benfica players + Matic and Ivanovic) , while Red Star was European and World Champions back in 1991 , but they're now in big crisis (like all Serbian teams). They produced names such as Vidic , but all of Serbian teams are now in big crisis , that there's no space for total improvement of league.
Also, there's alot of corruption in teams (in Red Star and Partizan as well) , alot of thiefs in management of these teams that it's really annoying. You know, our league is pretty similar to our country. One word can describes it best - corruption.
Anyone looking forward to next season? Melbourne City look like they are putting together a pretty amazing squad which should allow them to compete with Wanderers/Roar.
Sydney FC have Arnold as our new coach and I'm really excited - our handful of signings so far have been really promising and he hopefully will get us playing sme actual passing football. I'm so excited that I've just bought the club season membership for the coming year (first time joining a sport club of any kind...).
Even those who don't follow the A-League (most of you I presume) check out this goal that Sydney FC's Marc Janko scored. Just... incredible. It could arguably already be the goal of the season:
