Welcome to another addition of the TOTC. Having had three previous versions this edition's aim is to have an exciting and open race from day one right up to the finish.
Yes we are going around the world in this edition. We have 21 stages in 21 different countries from around the world. Including 2 TTT's (stages 1/20). Unlike previous editions there is no clear cut favourite for the GC, this time I mean it!
If you wish to enter post in this thread.
What you need to do (4 steps):
1) Sign up (post in this thread)(If accepted your name will be appear in this post) Then wait until 20 other people have signed up
2) Pick a jersey (If you are new to TOTC you must pick a jersey from the list)
3) Pick riders for the draft (as in TOTC3 we will use the same draft system but the 'Pot' concept is slightly different)

The scoring system:
Per every stage: (except TTT's)
1st place rider =30 points 2nd place =24 points 3rd place 20 points
4th place = 17 points 5th place =15 points 6th place = 13 points
7th place= 11 points 8th place =10 points 9th place =9 points
10th place =8 points 11th place= 7 points 12th place = 6 points
13th place = 5 points 14th place = 4 points 15th = 3points
Plus 1 point per rider who finishes at the same time as the stage winner.
Scoring system for stages 1 and 20: (The TTT's)
Points are awarded to the team rather than individuals
1st place team: 50 points 2nd place team: 40 points 3rd place team: 30 points
4th place team: 25 points 5th place team: 20 points 6th place team: 17 points
7th place team: 15 points 8th place team: 13 points 9th place team: 11 points
10th place team: 10 points 11th place team: 9 points 12th place team: 8 points
13th place team: 7 points 14th place team: 6 points 15th place team: 5 points
Points for final GC:
1st place = 100 points 2nd place= 75 points 3rd place = 60 points
4th place = 50 points 5th place= 45 points 6th place = 40 points
7th place = 36 points 8th place = 32 points 9th place = 28 points
10th place = 25 points 11th place = 22 points 12th place = 20 points 13th place = 18 points 14th place = 16 points 15th place = 12 points 16th place = 10 points 17th place = 8 points 18th place = 6 points 19th place = 4 points 20th place = 2 points
Points for final points classification:
1st place = 60 points 2nd place = 45 points 3rd place = 35 points
4th place = 25 points 5th place = 20 points 6th place = 16 points
7th place = 12 points 8th place = 10 points 9th place = 8 points
10th place = 6 points 11th place = 4 points 12th place = 2 points
Points for final mountain classification:
1st place = 50 points 2nd place = 40 points 3rd place = 30 points
4th place= 25 points 5th place = 20 points 6th place = 16 points
7th place = 12 points 8th place = 10 points 9th place = 6 points
10th place = 3 points
Points for final youth classification:
1st place: 40 points 2nd place = 30 points 3rd place = 25 points
4th place = 20 points 5th place= 16 points 6th place = 12 points
7th place = 10 points 8th place = 8 points 9th place = 6 points
10th place = 3 points
New to this edition of TOTC there will be 5 UC points on offer at the end of each of the 21 stage reports. Totalling potential 105 UC points. (See spoiler)
Spoiler The first item I will post in every stage report will be a graphic with two flags:
--- The leftmost flag will be where the stage is held (IGNORE THIS FLAG).
--- The rightmost flag will be of a country/ disputed country or a province from around the world.
After the stage report has been posted post in the thread where you think the rightmost flag belongs to. If you are correct and the first to post the correct answer then 5 UC points will be yours.
Example:
If someone posted 'Botswana' then 5 UC points would be theirs.

Here all the eligible riders are kept.
Riders will be chosen through a serpentine system as in TOTC3, the draft order will be randomised again for round 9. Each team will be comprised of 9 riders:
--- 2 riders from POT 1
--- 3 riders from POT 2
--- 4 riders from POT 3
What you have to do via PM. Send me a list in the following format:
--- POT1 --- (Names of 6-8 riders from POT 1 where the preferred rider is first)
--- POT 2 --- (Names of of 9-12 riders from POT 2 where the preferred rider is first)
--- POT 3 --- (Names of 12-16 riders from POT 3 where the preferred rider is first)
* If you are incapable of adding a rider to your team (through your draft picks being taken/ or another reason) then your pick/ picks will be randomised.

I hope this one will be the best by a mile. Pot 1 contains 'the best' riders, IF any of them dominates like Gadret/Sanchez then fair enough!!!! |
