is it going to be any good?
seriously, the others up to now have been awful.
I think you've over-rated Big George on the cobbles, but that's the only fault i can see

Yep, I am expecting the first good or reasonable attempt from a 08 database...
Oh, and LA is not Maia anymore, is now LA-MSS-PĆ³voa.

*looks at stats*
*shoots himself*
anyway, each and every one of us can always edit stats themselves. what really matter is: what's going to be included in the DB? and what are you going to do about the new (dis)organization of races and teams (ProTour, etc) ?

You'll have to see for yourself whether you like the stats, but the tests haven't been bad (and George never won a cobble classic in my test, best result was third in Paris-Roubaix ) |

Well, looking at the alternatives (except for our own DB, that is) this may be the best of them I mean .. SL08? |

i would make an 08 db myself but the stats would take me too long to and would be too poor - is there a good 08 database stats wise that has other stuff wrong with it?

There's not a good 08 DB out yet, no matter if you look at stats, graphics, realism, etc. |

The comments in this topic astound me. Do you people actually think you know anything about cycling or making databases?
ESpecially Issoiso and Guido Mukk (the latter one is the most terrible).
Too much green? What's that for a bullshit argument. High Road(T Mobile) have a lot of high class sprinters (Cavendish/Ciolek/Greipel/Eisel/Reynes). A top-10 rider of the Tour de France (Kirchen) and top notch cobble specialists (hincapie/hammond/klier/burghardt) ofcourse you have a lot of green then
Why make cyclists terrible because you don't want "too much green"
And how can hincapie be overrated? just because he was injured in the cobble classics? ever seen him when he wans't injured? Also the max stat is 85, since it's based on Stanoscase. Where I did the stats from
Never ever have I gotten a bad review on any of my databases, internationally and domestically. I follow cycling every day of the year, I research cyclists and results to junior level. These statistics are as real as they can get. Ofcourse opinions differ on top riders with 1/2 stat points. Some people don't believe in a rider (even though his results are fine) and others think a rider should be better. But the general level is good.
So if you say the stats are terrible and this database looks hopeless, I hope you'd better back it up with some decent arguments, and not sentences like "They are too green" or "this rider is overrated with 1/2 points"... Stats are only deemed terrible if, like in many french databases, a rider has totally wrong stats (Mollema the cobble specialist @ French db's ). And I can assure you, that virtually never happens in a DB based on my research.
And if you can't back it up with any decent arguments. You'd better shut up for good or try it yourself

In every international (not Norwegian) race he got his ass owned in the youth categories by REAL hilly specialists and climbers. I'm a very close follower of the international youth categories...
Edvald is a sprinter with capabilities to win classics like Milan San Remo, Vattenfall Cyclassics, de Ronde van Vlaanderen or Paris Roubaix.
Honoustly, have you really seen his appearence in real life? He's too bulky to be a hilly specialist, he can't compete with the top hilly cyclists, that we also saw in the Tour l'Avenir and the world championships espoirs.
And you'd better not dare me to come with any proof because I've got plenty of results which back up what I say. |

Not that this is my database, but it's based on it, so I needed to defend my work. And I think I'm fully in my right to do so. Certainly when the arguments used are none/bad or even laughable. |

Somewhat yes, we're stupid enough to talk none-the-less!

Why make cyclists terrible because you don't want "too much green"
Because if you make riders terrible, you get less green and thus achieves wanted solution to "too much green".

1) He's american and we're europeans. 2) We're still stupid as hell

Quality is in the eye of the beholder my good sir.

I dont like the french either

We, the internet public, does not need decent arguments. If something is rubbish, we have the right to say so just like that.

If you have the right to do that. I have the right to rant about it and flame them to the ground with actual arguments that make sense. So don't whine. |

So don't whine about me calling you senseless dumbasses with no respect for hard work. Who have no clue themselves how to build a good database, or are too lazy to do so, and then think they have the right to complain? Na-ah. Do it yourself if you think you can do it so goddamn much better |

Heck, i know im too lazy to make a DB, but i know i wouldnt show screenshots of T-Mobile in 2008, or call other people dumbasses just for arguing.
Sure, ill have some respect for hard work, but that respect goes once you start lashing out after people who dont like the finished product.
