My good deed for the day.
Also Jan Bakelants will open season in the Tour Down Under, where OPQS will give him a free role. It'll be interesting to see him perform there, in a hilly/some mountain stage race without time trial I can see him doing great! |

Scarponi confirmed to Astana. He will lead the Giro, together with Aru. Lutsenko will ride there as well. It's going to be interesting.

That's great to hear. It's easy to trash the likes of Riccò, Sayar or Santambrogio, but you rarely hear anything coming from other pros when the doper isn't such an easy target. Well done François.

Boonen was at Postal. Nobody mentioned him in the USADA investigation
Maybe im being naive, but... Maybe it's because he has been clean all along? |

He was only for one year at Postal, very young a not part of the A-team. Possibly he wasn't trusted enough and therefore was on his own program independent of the team.

I sometimes feel that one group of people are being overlooked when it comes to doping; the ones who came in 2nd place.
There are so many careers that (could) have been ruined because other people used dope. I can't imagine how someone must feel when your career path was hindered because of a cheater and you're stuck as a footnote in history.

You're trying to say that without the dope there'd be less Rojas/Farrar Jokes?

Well, in terms of general classifications there wasn't surely much difference between the top contenders in the dark years, so nothing lost in these cases.
As for stage wins or smaller races, I think, that most races could/would have been different. The guy getting 2nd might have hung onto the stronger, doped rider and instead of finishing Top 10, he got a Podium, just as an example. For instance, I'm pretty sure Pereiro (regardless if he doped) wouldn't have won the Tour if it wasn't for Landis.
However, obviously any clean rider has a right and should be angry at any doped rider who stole his honest victory (be it #1 or just finishing a good race) and thus, as a sum of everything, maybe destroyed a more successful, rewarding and satisfying career.

Not much difference between the 1st and 2nd guys in these years. And about today, well...
Still, I'd feel for the guys who finished 10th or 20th in these days. |

The UCI and WADA planning to re-test Hesjedal's samples from his overall victory in the 2012 Giro after his admission of having previously doped in his career.

Unless Cookson suspects a cover up to help promote the relatively new Canadian WT one day races.
