It is a done deal, Špiro Milošević has signed for the promising set up of IAM Cycling. Špiro has dominated the Croatian domestic cycling scene, winning 20 races in the past two years.

The young Croatian sprinter had this to say: 'This is a huge moment for me and the right move. I have been assured that I will grow with IAM in addition to having multiple opportunities for myself. As I say, this is the ideal move for me.'

Could you set your 3 goals for the first season part today, please?

That hard goal is not going to be easy... but I guess it was meant to be that way. Shock

Ollfardh
Did you really expect the hard goal to be easy? Wink

We are proud to present you our two new signings, a portuguese and an italian. Cristiano Totti and Francesco Ronaldo will join the team for the next upcoming year. The promising young duo will no doubt strengthen our squad and widen our international scope.

Fernando97, one of the two DS's of the team shared some insights with the team website.
– I'm really glad that we were finally able to put an end to the negotiations. I'm thrilled that the duo accepted our offers, even declining some other teams, I heard. Having more and more riders of this quality is really important for the future.

Definitely our main rivals for grabbing the CT Team Ranking.
Though I think Europcar is just a little bit stronger Wink

Good luck this season at least, I hope we'll get a nice battle for the CT wins Wink

HI FOLKS

Hi everybody! My name is Mathias von Triesenberg, and I have recently signed a contract with IAM Cycling. This was a few days ago, but because I was busy doing all kind of press conferences and administrative things, I could not introduce myself. So, I'll tell something about myself now! My name is Mathias von Triesenberg and I'm 21 years old. I was born in Triesenberg, Liechtenstein. At the age of 5, my dad bought my first bike. When I turned 11, I participated in the National Championships, and I won! Yes, there are not many cyclists in Liechtenstein, but still, at only 11! Last year, after winning it for the 10th consecutive time, IAM Cycling offered me a contract, and I decided to accept it! It was a dream coming true! So, here I am now, riding with the big guys. And in a few years time, I hope to beat them! So, rememberg my name!

--Mathias

Interview with our new riders

cdn.business2community.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/media-interview11.jpg

Now that our squad is full, it's time to get to know our new riders a little bit better. We sent them this small interview, and they will post their respective answers here. Here it goes:

Question 1:

Tell us about yourself! What is the backstory behind a rider? Do you have the full support of your family (since you choose to be a professional cyclist at such a young age instead of learning some conventional job)? What motivates you to be at the top level?

Question 2:

What made you chose our team? How do you like being with our team and living in Switzerland so far? Do you see yourself sticking to our team and helping it rise to the next level, or do you see yourself seeking a contract from bigger teams in the following years?

Question 3:

What are your goals and ambitions heading into the season? Which races are your favourite?

Question 4:

Did you have any interaction with the fans? If yes, how did they welcome you?

Question 5:

Did you make any new friends since you arrived?

Question 5+1:

If you have anything else to say to the media, this is the perfect opportunity, do it now! Wink

Question 1:

Tell us about yourself! What is the backstory behind a rider? Do you have the full support of your family (since you choose to be a professional cyclist at such a young age instead of learning some conventional job)? What motivates you to be at the top level?
Answer 1: My girlfriend Sonia always supports me.

Question 2:

What made you chose our team? How do you like being with our team and living in Switzerland so far? Do you see yourself sticking to our team and helping it rise to the next level, or do you see yourself seeking a contract from bigger teams in the following years?

Answer 2: It's easy for me to train in the mountains and as I can still speak Italiano in this country. My real goal is becoming as good as Nibbles

Question 3:

What are your goals and ambitions heading into the season? Which races are your favourite?

Answer 3: As I said before I ever want to win the Giro. But for this season I want some good results (hopefully) a stage in the giro and a good result in the strade bianche

Question 4:

Did you have any interaction with the fans? If yes, how did they welcome you?

Answer 4: They can always contact me on twitter @Totti_E_Ronaldo (also for Francesco Ronaldo)

Question 5:

Did you make any new friends since you arrived?

Answer 5: Yes Patrick Schelling is a nice guy for me it's good that there are some italians in the team like Bandiera and Pelucchi

Question 1:

Tell us about yourself! What is the backstory behind a rider? Do you have the full support of your family (since you choose to be a professional cyclist at such a young age instead of learning some conventional job)? What motivates you to be at the top level?

Answer 1: Hi I'm Špiro Milošević. Forgive my English, I am still learning!
Well I did lose both my parents when I was very young, so up until recently I have been living with my Grandfather in the Croatian wilderness, I can't imagine anyone being more supportive than him.

I have been working at a beer distillery back in Croatia for the past two years but I have always, how do you say, ridden my bike like a mad man!

Question 2:

What made you chose our team? How do you like being with our team and living in Switzerland so far? Do you see yourself sticking to our team and helping it rise to the next level, or do you see yourself seeking a contract from bigger teams in the following years?

Answer 2: Choosing IAM was an easy choice. It is both a place where I can develop and get my own opportunities. I was expecting, how do you say, big egos! But there is none of that. Which is good because I prefer it when everyone gets along. I am already real good friends with Gustav and Johan.

With respect to IAM, if the team doesn't make it to the WT soon or doesn't get invites to the big races (Milan San Remo, etc) I will be looking to join a, how do you say, bigger team.

Question 3:

What are your goals and ambitions heading into the season? Which races are your favourite?

Answer 3: [/b] My main goal is to help IAM achieve its goals. This includes setting up wins for teammates such as Sebastian and Heinrich as well as gunning for victory myself.

Without doubt my favourite race is Milan San Remo it is, how do you say, such a beautiful race covered in History. Besides that I would love to come back to my home of Croatia and win there.

Question 4:

Did you have any interaction with the fans? If yes, how did they welcome you?

Answer 4: I won many race in Croatia and in the process became very popular with the locals. In the last 5 races I did in Croatia fans would approach me and sing the national anthem, Lijepa naša. If that wasn't crazy enough they also bring me flowers before the race, from time to time.

Question 5:

Did you make any new friends since you arrived?

Answer 5:
Well Gustav (Larsson) an Johan (Tschopp) have been the most welcoming so far. However, I also met a nice woman called, Trisha. I didn't expect that one!

Question 5+1:

If you have anything else to say to the media, this is the perfect opportunity, do it now! Wink

Answer 5+1: Okay

I AM Å piro..... Now if you wouldn't mind ladies and gentlemen, I have a 'meeting' with Trisha. Pfft

Question 1:

Tell us about yourself! What is the backstory behind a rider? Do you have the full support of your family (since you choose to be a professional cyclist at such a young age instead of learning some conventional job)? What motivates you to be at the top level?

Answer 1:

Hi, I am Mathias von Triesenberg and I was born in Liechtenstein, which is close to Switzerland. My family fully suports me, and they will visit me every time they can. I want to be at the top level to represent the glorious country of Liechtenstein, which hasn't had much cyclist. I want to change that.

Question 2:

What made you chose our team? How do you like being with our team and living in Switzerland so far? Do you see yourself sticking to our team and helping it rise to the next level, or do you see yourself seeking a contract from bigger teams in the following years?

Answer 2:

Well, I received 2 offers. 1 from Cofidis and 1 from IAM. I chose for IAM because it gave me a better offer, and I already know Switzerland. I like the team very much, a lot of nice guys. I want to stay with the team for a long time, but you never know when a great offer comes along.

Question 3:

What are your goals and ambitions heading into the season? Which races are your favourite?

Answer 3:

Goals? I have only 1 goal this year, and that is to promote cycling in Liechtenstein. But, since there are no races in Liechtenstein this year, I will try to do my best in every race. I prefer punchy stages, but any type of race is good enough for me.

Question 4:

Did you have any interaction with the fans? If yes, how did they welcome you?

Answer 4:

I already have some fans from Liechtenstein and beyond the borders. The people from Liechtenstein are supporting me and they hope I can succeed in professional cycling.

Question 5:

Did you make any new friends since you arrived?

Answer 5:

Yes, I've already made 30 new friends. Who? All the riders and the staff, of course.

Question 5+1:

If you have anything else to say to the media, this is the perfect opportunity, do it now! Wink

Answer 5+1:

Come and visit Liechtenstein, it's a beautiful country. And no, I haven't been paid by the Government of Liechtenstein to promote our glorious country!

Question 1:
Tell us about yourself! What is the backstory behind a rider? Do you have the full support of your family (since you choose to be a professional cyclist at such a young age instead of learning some conventional job)? What motivates you to be at the top level?

Answer 1: My backstory isn't too interesting. I lived in Lund with my brother and parents. They separated and our mom got a job in Stockholm which is some 600 kilometers from here. Well anyway.
Our dad always gave us full support to get to the top level, while our mom has always been a bit more restricted about bike racing. She hoped we would get a normal job instead, but now she knows we have talent so she's giving us full support.

Question 2:

What made you chose our team? How do you like being with our team and living in Switzerland so far? Do you see yourself sticking to our team and helping it rise to the next level, or do you see yourself seeking a contract from bigger teams in the following years?

Well the main helper to get my contract here was Nicklas. IAM wanted to sign him but he had already accepted his contract with Garmin. So he recommended me, and within a day they sent a contract to me and I accepted.
Both me and Nicklas have always loved Switzerland. Especially Zermatt and Luzern (Lucerne). Living in Switzerland is great indeed.
Hmm that is a difficult question. I can't say I'll stay forever but I can't say I will leave next season already. It really depends on what kind of season I'll have here. We'll see.

Question 3:

What are your goals and ambitions heading into the season? Which races are your favourite?

Answer 3: I can't say I have any specific goals for the season. I just want to preform as good as possible to help the team reach the world tour.
I love all the classics. My favorite is without doubt La Fleché Wallonie. It's a fantastic race indeed.

Question 4:

Did you have any interaction with the fans? If yes, how did they welcome you?

Answer 4: Not yet. I'm not the best known rider on the team, but I hope to become the best known rider on the team.

Question 5:

Did you make any new friends since you arrived?

Answer 5: Alex Pliuschin is a great guy. His story is amazing. I also talked a bit with Heinrich Haussler. The rest of the team are great guys too.

I hope for a great season for everyone on our team and for Nicklas as well.

I'll see you all around Grin
