I was thinking what riders would you people bet on to take a big step forward in performance? I know it's a bit hit-and-miss, but that makes it all the more interesting, I think.
For instance, last year I was thinking Riccò for sure. I was half-right. Schleck and Contador were above him, I'd say
anyway, this is about the next season, so as I said in another thread:
I'm thinking Haedo or Mandri. of course there are a lot of names that can step up quickly. Ciolek and Breschel being the most obvious ones.

From a brit perspective, Geraint Thomas, but I doubt he'll be too much of a revelation in cycling as a whole.
Philip Deignan could be one to look out for, he showed signs of good climbing talent with some stage results in the Vuelta.

Steve Cozza (and it isn't just my bias). He would have had an even better season last year if he hadn't had that bad trip over to Europe which started out great but ended in 3 concussions. Steve is going to impress I think.

For the Dutch riders I could say Mollema or Gesink, but that's too obvious and not a big suprise if they would go very good.
So I come up with another name, Sebastian Langeveld, great northern classics rider, I think he might suprise many this year.
Generally speaking it's hard to guess a revelation. It might just be Igor Anton this year if you ask me. |

My pick is going to Remy Di Gregorio, but i also think it could be Nibali and Luis Leon Sanchez

He is so spritely!
On a serious note, I will plump for Matti Breschel, who will make a big jump up in his performances B) |

thanks setzel for being the only non-homer here (rodda I'm on to you )
It should be an interesting year for sure, with so many riders about to take a step up
