Just kidding. Good strong signing for you. Will be nice to see a Frenchman leading a proper campaign in Roubaix...
I think there is a max of 30 riders and 2 Custom riders for WT-teams. Should you be allowed to fill up with non-custom domestiques I expect to end up sacking one or two riders that Ollfardh might at that time will allow to join a team with a small roster (who knows...)

Just to set things straight: I will only give riders to people who really need them (so not if others were fired) and it will no be custom riders. For FDJ, I could get a rider from la Pomme or BigMat for example.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

FDJ pocket controversial young puncher
Today French team FDJ have announced the signing of one of the brightest young prospects in the peleton. That's right, Delfi Cervero has gone to FDJ! Despite interest from another team, he went to the first team to offer him a contract, and despite having initially turned down the Costa Rican, that was FDJ! He will hope for a long and prosperous career and a long stay at this brilliant squad.
It is rumoured that Agency company the Shire agency was behind the PR stunt turned controversy that lead to him being one of the biggest names in the young rider's peleton. They deliberately created data showing him as a top sprinter as well as a puncher which sparked interest until they were informed by the new UCI president that for some reasons riders are not allowed to change their speciality any more! It is said Shire agencies already knew and did this only to get his name out.
Whatever the conditions of the agreemtn, Delfi is at FDJ now and as such has been promised as undisputed leader in the Ardennes Classics and in hilly small tours. He happily accepts he is weak in the TTs so he has little chance of taking many GCs but is fully capable of stage wins. As such he hopes to rider La Vuelta where he may be able to win a few stages or at least get his face known, as he is not only a puncher but strong from a reduced peleton too. |

Cervero sorry for poor showing
Hello, I'd just like to say sorry to the FDJ management after my terrible showing in Gabon. Despite arriving as one of the big favourites I only managed 8th and didn't even get a podium. This is really disappointing for me and i wanted to apologise here. This team has put a lot of kindness, support and work into getting me into a winning position but I just couldn't pull it off. I've let down their trust and confidence and have utterly failed to deliver. The management has shown a lot of trust in me and signed me even when others had no faith. They have believed in me every step of the way and I have let them down. All there is left to say now is that despite my obvious disappointment I have decided to treat this as a learning experience and hopefully next time I'll live up to expectation. |
