We go to South Africa for this hilly race's first ever appearance in the Man-Game. It's of semi-classic lenght, so about the 200-kilometres mark and with plenty of altimetres to go with it.
These are located at the big hill which the riders have to climb six times as it tops at the end of each final circuit where the finish line is also placed. No doubt what kind of rider it is going to take to win this.
Vespa has the big favourite. We say 'big', but his opponents are not really completely out-shadowed by Ginanni of the Italian outfit.
Nicolas Roche is one of the first challengers. ING recently enjoyed succes in the Tour of Denmark and with Roche in this kind of terrain they could once again have a rider on the podium.
Then there's the German, Flügel. He rides with Volkswagen-Mapei in the colourful, yet very cool jerseys of that team. He is one of the strongest hilly riders in the Pro Continental ranks and he would definitely be powerful enough to do very well in this kind of race. Flügel also have very strong support in German veteran Kessler.
Roche, Flügel and this guy Chris Froome, I'd personally name the Top 3 Challengers. The British team is succesful as ever and in Froome they have a rider perfectly suited for these hilly one-day races. In many's eyes he is the true favourite but he is going to have to beat the four beforementioned riders if he wants to take the Nelspruit Classic crown.
Other riders very much capable of a big result here are Aleksandr Efimkin, Patrik Sinkewitz, Johnny Hoogerland, Hassen Ben Nasser and Jeremy Roy.

Well, a top 5 goal for us. Was a real noob mistake from my part. I can see Ginanni taking the win here

Hoping for a surprise result from Chaoufi or someone else, but not expecting anything. Could well be a 0-pointer for us. |

Eh, uh, go Ben Nasser? It'll be hard with the really good field here, but I hope he can overperform to take a surprise podium here. After all the underperforming he's had, it 'd be fair.

I'll bet on Froome powering away from everyone and winning. Ginnani take's 2nd, but he might win as well. |

No mention of Gautier in the preview. That's rather worrying. So a top 10 is the goal.

No mentions for any of my riders either, so I guess I'll settle with a 10th as well |

That was disappointing. Again. Why oh why couldn't Ben Nasser go with the attackers, or at least try? Sigh. And congrats SN, good effort from Froome and Dowsett.

Perfect result for Jaguar, for Froome to win on the win goal race, and Dowsett to back it up with good points

Congratulations to Froome and SN. And again big scores for teams in the 2nd half of the ranking. The battle will only heat from here on out.

Solid classic result by Efimkin. Hopefully he will deliver same type of results in coming races as well, I really hope he can save Cisco in PCT.
