Post Danmark Rundt Discussion
niconico
Welcome to the Tour of Denmark or Post Danmark Rundt as the local will choose to call it. Let's start with a piece of fun fact. Never ever has a Danish rider in Man-Game History won a stage at the biggest race on home soil, maybe that'll change the next few days.

That could lead us to talk about some of the home-favourites and there a few to pick between. Alex Rasmussen for instance, don't you think he would just love to take a stage win here? What about Matti Breschel? He has the power to take on both the sprints and the hills in the infamous Vejle stage. Perhaps a winning formula. There's also Lars Bak, Jakob Fuglsang, Martin Pedersen and Michael Valgren all from the same team! Their problem? They have a very strong captain in Peter Kennaugh who won the opening stage here two years ago riding under the old 100% me colours.

Well Kennaugh is definitely a man to look out for because of his sprinting capabilities. But what about that hilly Vejle stage? And the time trial in Helsingør not to forget. Conclusion could be it would take a complete rider to come away with the win here. Challenging Kennaugh in the sprints are Maxime Vantomme of Rothaus, Ismaël Kip of ING-CP, Danilo Kupfernagel of Amex, Guarnieri of Vespa, Kreder of Swedbank and so on and so forth.

First two stages are flat and should be ones for the before-mentioned riders including the likes of Haussler, Drujon, Hoffmann who are also here. It is a very strong pack of sprinters lining up! Then we go into stage three which will see its decision being made on one of the four ascents of locally dreaded Kiddesvej climb with a peak gradient of 19%. This is where the attacking hilly riders will strike and who knows maybe one of these guys could put in a strong enough attack to take the race lead. I'm thinking guys like Carlos Betancourt, maybe Alexander Kolobnev and the Danish home-favourites Matti Breschel and Jakob Fuglsang.

Which leads us to stage 5. If one of these guys manages to take the lead then here's a challenge for them. 14 kilometres of flat time trial which could see a heavier rider come from behind the sprinters and the puncheurs and beat them to the punch.

Should it all not be decided after the race against the clock then we have a final showdown in the capital the following day where a few adjustments from boni seconds could be made.

There's only one way to find out eh?

Sorry if there's some favourites I forgot. Have to get familiar with Continental teams first Smile

Zabriskie maybe. And nice to see you reporting niconico. Grin

Looking forward to this race.

Lars Boom would be a good bet for a top5 I guess. At least I hope so plus some good sprint results by Vantomme.

After the pretty long break, Nolan Hoffman is back in action and we will look forward how he will cope with the racing in northern Europe and strong sprint competition (Vantomme, Bazajev, Guarnieri,...).
Stage win would be nice, or maybe another miracle from Hoffman, to hunt Kritskiy in the standings?

Good to see you reporting niconico.
I'll be back

I've already lost my faith in Rasmussen, so i don't expect him to let my initial plan of grabbing a stage with the national bonus come true. But feel free to prove me wrong, Alex Wink

Just hoping for my team being active in the breaks, doing well in the TT and getting some well needed GC-points eventually.

Hoping that being danish will give Bøchman the extra power he needs. Other than that pretty much a race becuse I had some race days and no days left on my leaders

Cornu really has to podium here. I'm not expecting much from Drujon but I'll take what I can get.

Nice report Nico and a good sprint by Kennaugh though he didn't look the fastest rider his team put him in a great position!

Nice report, congrats to Vueling!

Hoffman with terrible positioning, as seen on the pictures, not a good job by our star. Frown

Edit: But good job from Brambilla to jump in the break and snatching valuable bonus seconds, which helped him to 3rd in GC.

Ah, just noticed that Drapac is also riding here, so i guess Rasmussen won't even try to join the sprints.. Good to see us in the break though. Hope it won't be the last try!

Thanks for the report. A top 5 is a strong result for Drujon. Hopefully he can keep at it and maybe podium at some point.

I have to admit I very rarely look at continental race results. That might have to change in the future. Especially as my old riders are getting results they could never manage for me! Rowe in 2nd!? Drujon in 5th.

Clearly they didn't like riding for my teams!

Then i hope you will follow Sibiu Tour later in July and bring some good luck to Popo, i would not mind see him winning once. Grin
However i have some dark feeling that Dekker is going there.
I'll be back

Nice that my team was so determined to get in the break on the first stage and Manan with two solid results after the first two days!

Vantomme delivers.

Good report, thanks. A bit nothing from us but it is always good to see Vantomme deliver.

Vantomme the fastest again, no chance for others!
Hoffman terrible again, does he rate himself as the puncher and is trying to avoid mass sprints or what? Smile
I'll be back

And he strikes again. Grin

Vantomme might be the rider, who profits the most from PCM12 in comparison to PCM11.

I hope PCM13 won`t hurt him again. Wink

Also nice to see former rider Schorn doing great in the breakaway.

Nice report, niconico.

roturn
Good 2nd by Boom here. And also nice to see Velits and Tendero still in that first group.

On the other hand a gap to weaker puncheurs would have been nicer obviously.

Heine
Well done by Kessler, to bad Bøchman lost time :/ Hopfully I can get someone in a break that makes it to the finish now, my team seems to be aggressive atleast
