When Garmin announced to stop as a professional cycling sponsor, Jonathan Vaughters decided to go into a whole new direction with his team. He wanted to create a young team full of potential. Therefore most riders didn't get their contracts renewed and many new, promising riders will get their chance at the highest level of cycling. Also, he wanted the team to be transparent, using this blog. That's where I came in.
My name is Danny de Haas, I'm a 19 years old time trialist from the Netherlands. As a young and promising rider who's now a member of this team I'll be able to provide you with insights in the team that even Jonathan can't give you. I'll try to post something on this blog as much as possible, in between training and races.
As a rider I'm trying to develop myself as a tour rider. My goal is to eventually win one of the 3 GTs. At the moment my TT skills aren't bad, but I still need to improve a lot as a climber.
Spoiler The new main sponsor is energy drink supplier Red Bull. The company is already sponsoring a lot of other sports, like the Formula 1 and different extreme sports. We can expect a substantial budget, but there will be high demands too.
Spoiler The secondary sponsor will be the Japanese electronics company Sharp. This contract was already signed when Garmin would be still sponsoring, so this company gets a spot on the jersey too. With another substantial contribution, Sharp gives us the chance to keep improving our training methods.
Next up we will present to you the new jersey and the new equipment. After that, Jonathan will present the team's riders for the next season.

In this post, I want to show you the new jersey and the new equipment, provided by Castelli and Cervélo.
Cervélo stays with the team as the bike sponsor, where Lazer will be sponsoring the helmets and Shimano will sponsor the wheels.
Below are some photos from me showing the new equipment, including the equipment for the World Champion TT. Hopefully I'll get to use that equipment after the WC this year.

Jonathan Vaughters will present the team's riders!

Welcome to the new blog of the Red Bull - Sharp cycling team. You will be kept posted by one of our most promising riders: Danny de Haas. He will give you the ins and outs of the training, races and other important news. Also, after every month a rider of the month will be presented to you.
Enough about the blog. Let's get the presentation of the riders going.
Nairo Quintana is one of the most promising GC contenders at the moment. He already is one of the best climbers of the world. The coming year(s) we will try and improve his TT abilities, so he will be able to compete for the win in the Grand Tours.
Ryder Hesjedal is one of the riders from Garmin who got to extend their contracts. Ryder has proven that he is able to win a GT and he is determined to try this again this year.
Daniel Martin is our only Irishman. He will be our leader in the hilly classics, but he can also be a GC contender.
The most promising riders:
Danny de Haas is our most promising rider. He already is a great time trialist (maybe one of the best in the world) at the age of 18, but his goal is to become a GC contender. With his focus and potential I think he will become one of the best Dutch riders ever.
Wilco Kelderman has the same ambitions as Danny. He is a GC contender with great potential and he will be able to compete for the win in the GTs in a few years.
Rohan Dennis is a great time trialist, able to develop this skill even further. He already is a strong climber for someone of his age, but his ambitions are to develop his TT skills. Therefore, this Aussie won't become a big GC contender.
Caleb Ewan is one of the most promising sprinters at the moment. In a few years he will be able to beat Kittel, Greipel and even Cavendish in the flat sprints.
- David Millar will be assisting me in managing the team, but he will also be of great value for the team on the bike.
- Silvio Herklotz
- Fredrik Ludvigsson
- Lachlan Morton
- Jakob Rathe
- Toms Skujins
- Patrick Konrad
- Rasmus Quaade
- Raymond Kreder
- Nathan Haas
- Andrew Talansky
- Ramunas Navardauskas
- Riccardo Zoidl
- Michel Kreder
- Steele Von Hoff
- Peter Stetina
- Alex Howes
- Alexander Egger
- Jack Bauer
- Tyler Farrar
- Alex Rasmussen
- Thomas Dekker

Guess I can post now.
Oh wow, what a talented squad! Maybe a bit too talented, but I don't mind.
And Kelderman is in it
How about a screenshot of the team stats? Which DB will you be using actually?

I'm using the PCM.daily DB, but I've edited a few stats. Froome now has 83 climbing, Quintana 82, Contador and Nibali 81 and Valverde 80. Kittel has 83 SP/81 ACC, Greipel 82/81 and Cavendish still has 82/83.
I'll post a screen in a few minutes.

Good luck with this.
Quite an OP team.

Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Strong team, worth their WT spot
Only point of worry might be the lack of mountain domestiques.
Edit: Oh, and cobbles ofc
