Well, the season is underway! The preseason began with the Cowboys beating the Dolphins 24-20 in a meaningless 3rd string players game...
Some interesting notes for the year so far:
1. There have been a record number of pre-season injuries where players are out for the season. The reason this could be is because the players union has given the players more time off this year, which could mean the body is not as used to taking such hits. Surprisingly enough, over half of those injuries occurred during a non-contact practice. Something that the union has agreed to lookout for in the future, although they claim that the injury rate is the same.
2. New faces in new places. Wes Welker in Denver, Mike Wallace in Miami, Reggie Bush in Detroit, Jake Long in St. Louis, among others. What team will benefit the most from the offseason changes, despite over the last few years, teams making acquisitions in the offseason have made no progress.
3. QB battles continue in Philadelphia, NY Jets, Buffalo & Arizona. Who will earn the starting jobs in their respective cities?
Well those are the top headlines so far, the regular season gets underway at the beginning of September as the Denver Broncos travel to super bowl champs the Baltimore Ravens!
What do you expect this season?

Our Houston Texans fail again in the postseason, leading to rumors of Kubiak being fired again. But, McNair doesn't pull the trigger, and leaves Houston fans frustrated for the next 2 years.
I expect Broncos to have the best record, and Chiefs to sneak into the playoffs.

What do I expect... Hmm. Lions making the playoffs again!
An upgraded offensive line + Reggie Bush. I don't see why not. *Fingers Crossed*

The rumor about the NFL fining JJ Watt with the salute is absolutely ridiculous.
Gonna be bold and take Seattle to be Super Bowl champs.

1.) Percy Harvin is a huge loss for the Seahawks, but I still think they will have a big season.
2.) Don't forget Chris Ivory, he can be the Jets' big (and only) weapon, if he can stay healthy. Also, with Reggie Bush now in Detroit, look out for Lamar Miller!
3.) Vick seems like a good bet in Philly. I hope Geno and Manuel take over the starting roles in NY and Buffalo, but I think Sancherception and Kolb will be starting. I don't think there is any question that Palmer will start for Arizona. I'd also include Oakland in the QB battle list, even though most likely Flynn will start (I would love to see Pryor taking his job, but it's not gonna happen...)
4.) You didn't include the top NFL-themed headline: Aaron Hernandez...
5.) It's probably now or never for Peyton Manning to get another ring, and I clearly hope he doesn't (I don't like him, even though he is a great player and a future Hall of Famer). I'd love to see Brady get another one though, but it's probably not going to happen either. |

I think the Texans will make it to the conference finals and lose to NE Who them lose to the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

That means either NE or Houston gets past Denver and neither is likely.
Definitely not with Schaub.

I think this is the year my Dolphins snap the 4 year losing record gig, and make the playoffs possible beating NE to win the division. All in all, I see them making the playoffs.. if they stay healthy and Lamar Miller runs well.

I wouldn't discount that.

Having started playing American Football, I'm going to start watching the NFL this season. Knowing very little of the league, which teams should I look out for? |

Hey, New England might be severly weakened, but they are still the best team in the AFC East... The Dolphins might be able to make the Play-Offs record wise, but not the division crown...

Cheers. Now to decide who to support, I'm thinking a team with little recent success and not huge expectations, so that I won't be disappointed by them. |

Seattle is a little high.
Atlanta is the real deal most likely should be a bit higher.
Detroit is really low.
Chicago will probably do really bad since they've got a Canadian Football League coach, but could pay off I guess.

The Jaguars are playing in London for the next four years, with the view to moving over here, so they wouldbe your home team. They are shit though, so you may not want to Support them.

Pfft, preseason power rankings without having each team played one preseason game?

There will never be a NFL Team located in London! The stress of traveling there, plust the time to get over the jet lag to have even chances, not to mention the time itll take teams like SF and SD to travel to London... The Eastern Teams might be all up for it, but the western Teams will vote against London having a franchise (and if they wont, Jerry Jones will)... It is much more likely that the jags will move to LA, since and Expansion of the NFL has been ruled out and they desperately want to place a franchise in LA, which is also a bigger market than anywhere in the UK, or even anywhere else in Europe...

Maybe not in the next few years, but I definitely wouldn't rule it out. Who cares about the players...we all know all Mr. Goodell care about is $$$
