Hi people!
As a geographer I have access to many datas. So I had the idea to help people who wants to create real stages.
For example I have roads, watercourses, forest and all kind of things for France and it seems that with free data I succeed to find for Spain, Germany and Italy (I don't know how the datas are reliable yet)
If you are interested i'll upload it in kml and it can be opened with google earth

In Google earth you have multiple parts, i don't know why but it should work

Just test it on PCM 12, KML on PCM 12 does not work for me, how about you? |

I don't know why PCM isn't making dem files for all the world... I don't think it takes a lot to do it |

EDIT: it seems that I have the tools to do it, not the knowledge! But as I know some people tried so they can help me for sure

Seems it doesn't work the wanted way, though I have to say I'm not very familiar with Google Earth. Maby it can be set that the myplace.kml could be useful!?
Wanted to see what happens when I use the cours_eau_france.kml to create a stage from and activate as a kml-map...
Worked well and showed how it could help when you want to be precisely with your stages rivers, too.
Created a test gpx from Paris to Sens and activated the Seine.gpx (edited). River outline is showing nicely in the stage editor.

Something like a "river database" would be very cool.
...and extra dem's would simply be amazing!!!

In fact im also on 99db but yes i'll try! I can also have datas for forest, urban areas etc but its area and not line ill see what can i do!
Or maybe I can make a tuto with the software im using

As Margh says, a river database would be amazing! And such for the forests, and perhaps citys! It could be a line around the ereas or simply the ereas if that's what you've got! Anything would just be awesome!

can you explain what you've did? for the 2 pictures?
I thought i upload la seine.gpx not kml, so what did you do? Cause i DL again the gpx and does not work in PCM 12

For the first pic (in spoiler) I opend a new stage with the cours_eau_france.kml and activated the kml-map with the same file to get the black line in top view.
For the second pic I first created a kml via google earth which leads from Paris to Sens. Then created a new stage with the paris_sens.kml and activated the cdo.gpx(sorry, misswrote that) in top view. |

Okay so it seems that pcm12 isnt working great cause cdo.gpx wasnt working for me
Im still trying to have a big db with all watercourses but i still cant
Can you test any kml?
I have some problem with it as i have nothing in my screen
I guess kml could work great cause gpx needs to be 1 entire road and kml can have multiple roads
