I just downloaded the game via Steam. I got the patch and the real name database.
The game Works perfectly and all, but it doesnt say that there are any prizemoney in any race or stage.
I got a second Place on a stage, and still no Money.
Anyone else got this problem? |

It's realistic. Prize money goes to riders, not teams

i had the same question... so in this game, there is no other way, then sponsors, to get money?? it¨s because i can¨t see how a season then can be succefully financially... i have started with SKY, and i have a monthly loss of 60.000 in my balance, i dident think, this would be a problem due to prize money, but what to do now? |

So is this an individual bug or a "new feature"?
Because as long as the staff provided by the game doesn't match the team's strenght, I understand the frustration.

@Cmknudsen:
If the game is not programmed to give prize money to the team, then it is not possible to change that behavior with an editor.
Last years game did pay prize money to the teams. In that case, you could edit the prize money in some config files (using a text editor.) You should be able to find more information by using the forum search.
But I thought that this game allows you to negotiate the budget. Did you try that already?
And if everything fails, you can either edit the sponsor budget or the bank account.

thx for the answers.. i loved the prize money from the previous games, because it made it possible, to have more "crazy" salaries....
Year i have negotiated a bit(not much to negotiate on, when your have a demanding sponsor as SKY). And this option was locked in early January, and i first discovered, the missing prize money, at the tour of Australia(or what, its called).
But the advise about changing sponser budger or bank account, will i use, if everything ells fails...
@CIO93 - I believe this is a new feature.
but i dont know, for under "scale" you can still see the prizes for each race.

This may be the case but PCM is a game and the race income has been a very enjoyable part of this game for many. Particularly those who enjoy managing smaller teams and getting promoted etc.
In fact I think in a fashion it is realistic enough. If teams meet success they get bigger budgets and can attract bigger names etc. |

I'm 100% with Popeye. I usually ride with a portuguese continental team and try to get promoted to Pro Tour in 2 or 3 years. Prize money for teams may not be realistic but this is a game and it allowed for hiring better riders for teams with poor sponsorships. |

i couden¨t agree more
for me, this missing element, is a big "bust" for an otherwise great game (so far). |

I totally disagree. Such silly features almost killed the game for me.
Also consider that it would be very boring if they would release the same game every year. Now you have a new challenge to manage small teams.
BTW: Using prize money to build your team faster is very cheap in my opinion: Having better riders will give you more prize money, which gives you better riders, which gives you more prize money, and so on. |

I don't think it's cheap, because it's the only feasable way to get a Continental team to WT. I don't think it's fun to play with mega teams. I'll have to do some math to see if I can hire one or two free agents at the beginning of the season and negotiate higher objects.
Another question, if you hire free agents in July, when will you start paying the wage? November 1st? Usually my prize money was kind of a buffer to hold on to January where I would earn some more money or have a new sponsor. I'm guessing that now you can only hire better riders when you change the sponsor. |

So far, I am all for the added realism of riders and not the team getting the prize money. However, they could have better communicated the fact that you get paid sponsorship money for 12+1 months better, or I missed something on the budget screen. If you didn't know you get 13 months worth of payments you would be a bit baffled as to how to cover staff wages and other expenses.
Sure you might not be able to grow team quite so fast if you are successful in many races. On the flip side, there is now an added realism and challenge to managing smaller cycling teams now. We shall see how I feel about it after a few seasons in Career Mode. |

In the interest of "realism" it should take 4-6 hours to play a stage ??? |

To all of those who want 100 percent realism.

Well said. I think those who only play the big teams don't understand this point of view. |

I'm fine with that with one requirement: give me useful staff in the beginning.
(slightly exaggerated, I haven't played a second yet either) If I'm Sky and have two 12.500 € trainers and one 8.000 € scout pre-set, that whole new system is shit.
If I have to fire everyone and sign 5 new guys, "we cover your initial staff wages" is useless.
