Figured out that there should be a new topic about discussing your career, but now for PCM 2013.
So here you can discuss and tell us about your career.
Feel free to post a summary/information about your career, a lot of people are very interested in reading other people's experiences
Last year was quite a success, so feel free to post your careers and comment on careers of other people

Great idea!
I'm already enjoying my career with a custom made rider at FDJ! Hilly stages are amazing to play.
Also, it's amazing to plan a season, much more fun than before.
So in Tour Med the team already scored with Vichot and Bouhanni! |

I'm trying to use the game scheduler... how do you know how many race days are planned for each rider? |

I think I am going to wait for some patches/DB updates before I start a career.
The fitness planner looks like it has potential but is confusing. It is strange that you can set targets for Riders for events that you are not even entered in. Does the 60 day rule still count or has that been replaced by something else?
This is definitely a step in the right direction I just think it needs refining. |

I'm going to start a career this afternoon with heavily edited stats and sponsor names. You can find that .cdb in one of the last pages of the Pcm 2013 thread(Shameless TMM-like ad ) Not sure if custom team or CT team yet.
Of course, will post updates on it now and then in this thread, it's called General Career Discussion for a reason

Yeah I'm going to use your DB in order to start a Lampre career. Also you should upload your DB in the upload section.

You think I should? I mean, it's just a .cdb, and based on an other DB.
But thanks!

Yeah I think it would be a good idea, and just as long as you give full credit it shouldn't be a problem. The stats are pretty damn good, just a few that I disagreed with but it was easy to change them. Thanks for the hard work.

To discuss careers, i will tell a bit about my first start, its with the original stats(ITA Real-name database, dont know if they have made any stats changes).. I have started with Team SKY(no big challenge, but i want to get a feel for the game, and possible get a better db, before i will take on a bigger challenge)
i think the new programming, seems great(i am only in late February). Bothe the group option, the race planning etc.
But the biggest bust of this game so far, is in my opinion the removal of prize money(there is already a threat discussing the problem).
In my opinion i should win everything, especially with SKY
But so far thats not the case.
I started by winning the Australian Championship with Richie Porte - love to have national jerseys.
Then i only came in forth(Edvard BH) in tour of down under(Australia), with a single stage(Swift) win, witch wasen´t great for my sponsors, they wanted a win.
And in the continental races leading towards Paris-Nice, and Tirreno Adriatico. I have had mixed results, a lot of top 5s but nothing bigger except, a second overall (Henao)l in GP Mediterian, losing the jersey to Bertancour, in the final stage.
This was a little update, feel free to comment.. If i have misunderstood this thread, don't hesitate to tell me..

You're using this thread right, Count & me are using it wrong
Well, you can't win everything with Sky. F.e Hills, and also a bit cobbles squads are quite weak(though Cyanide gave Froome ridiculously 80 Hill)
And it takes time to get used to new gameplay, I guess.
@Count:
Spoiler I'm not sure. It's a .cdb, and doesn't add thát much. I think Cruetrue doesn't even accept it as being in the download section. Besides, I don't even know how to get it there

Anyone? How can I see the planned race days for each rider in the Scheduler? I have to count them myself? I can only see a column for Days Raced. |

I'm afraid you have to count them, yeah

year i know... its almost all about the stage-rankings for Team Sky... So i am counting on, getting Paris-Nice and Tirreno-adriatico, just to get a got start for the confidence of the responses(they are already started to breath down my neck, through a yellow satisfaction bar)
In regard to the finances, i usually(in previous games) make a habit of over budgeting, but its no problem due, to the prize money, so i always have a lot on my balance.. As this is not a option in this game, any suggestions of how to make money, without firering staff?
When do the new sponsor money start to come(januar or before), its becaurs i have calculated that i have money to have a positive balance until November? |

Is there still a max level of riding days? |

New sponsor money comes each month. It seems that there's also a 13th month in the game, so that they pay you some extra money at the end.
To get more sponsor money, you can also negotiate goals now, but the problem with Sky is that those are already impossible goals
There's no max amount of racing days, no.
Also, riding to many racing days won't hurt the fitness level anymore, I think,

The problem will be that peaking for all 3 will be almost impossible because by the end of the Vuelta you are going to have a lot of extra fatigue. Of course if you are just using a domestique then that's not really a problem.

But, but, but, there's a but:
Training fitness level still can't be high over the whole year of course! So the rider will ride the Giro with great form, Tour decent form and Vuelta rubbish if you do that
