Hello! I am Erik Larsen and I was born 21st October 1992 in Kristansand in the south of Norway. I've pretty new in this circus of cycling, after only five years of training. My father was born in Grimstad, which is a cycling-crazy city not far from Kristiansand. When I was younger, he really wanted me to cycle, but I didn't want to, yet. I was crazy for football. But after some years I gave up, and started cycling with my dad in the evenings. He was pretty good, and trained me hard. But I really started to enjoy cycling when I was together with my family in Denmark, and saw a cycling-race. After that I asked my father if I could join a cycling-club, and he of course said yes. Because we were often at holiday in Denmark, I got a special relationship with Saxo Bank, after I had met C.A. Sørensen in a race. Last year, I joined my first race as an U23 rider. It was hard, but I felt prepared, and I was proving good in the mountains. Now I feel ready to take the step up to the professional world, but I don't know where to go?
I've got a contract offer by Katusha, Saxo Bank, Movistar, Orica and Lampre and Europcar. I really don't know where to go.
Katusha: They have Joaquin Rodriguez, Denis Menchov and Daniel Moreno as their best climbers. There are also seven other 70+ moutainriders in the team. But they have a Norwegian in their team, Kristoff, which will make the fit in easier. I think I'll be a teammate in the start.
Saxo Bank: I have a special relationship to this team, and they don't have too many climbers either. I'll probably be a teammate in the bigger races to help Contador, but maybe in some smaller races I'll be a free element. Or if I find my shape early, I might be a captain.
Movistar: This is probably the best team, they promise me good trainers and training camps. But I feel it is a bit many climbers there, and might stay as a teammate three or four seasons a teammate three or four seasons, which I will find quite boring and might don't train as hard.
Lampre: I don't know much about Lampre, except they have a really good climber, Scarponi. They also have Cunego, but not many without them. It will probably be a bit like Saxo Bank, but with a smaller chance for captain.
Orica Greenedge:Is a team without real climbers, but with some very good hill riders, so that destroys my leading chances. They are also mostly Australians, which will make it hard fro me to fit in the group, and it will be long to my family.
Europcar: Is a french team, with some really good climbers. Here I am not expecting a good position in the team, and I don't think I will fit in the group.
I am thinking of going to Saxo Bank, but I maybe go to Movistar or Katusha. I'll be think of this until the season starts in January.

Don't know which db you're using, but if you're using the 2013 db, I shouldn't go to Saxo Bank. Katusha will be difficult because they already have 30 riders. I guess Movistar is the best option, but it's your choice.

@ fcancellara: As mentioned, I'm not decided yet of which team to go for, but I am aiming for a World Tour team, so I can be in the big races
@ admirshcleck:Yep, Orica is a good team, but I'm a bit afraid of traveling half the world away from my family wen I am so young
@ Nunekazz:I think he will be a GT rider. Here is his stats(Except he is in RNT, and MO and HIL is 1 more)
@ TomC:Yep, as mentioned before, they are two of my favourite teams to go to
@ MrUfo87: I am using a 2012 DB, so Saxo doesn't have many 70+ riders.
@ AbelbabaYep, Saxo is my favourite

As somebody else has said, will probably be able to lead at Orica far quicker than most teams. |

I've been thinking for a while now, and I will sign for Saxo Bank!! My trainer requirements came through and I am euphoric to be in Saxo Bank. I'll travel to them tomorrow, too meet them. I really don't know what to do then, but I'll probably start training at once. Even I found Orica to have big leader chances, I went for Saxo Bank. It is a lot of reasons, but the biggest was that they were not far from my home, so I could visit my family. And they can join all the world tour races. I'm really excited about this!!!

I've just finished a training camp in Sydney, so today I am going to look at Jonathan (Cantwell), David (Tanner) and Luke (Roberts) race in this hilly NC in Austrailia. I've been told that the team leaders have decided to save the better climbers early in the season, so I'll maybe be a free rider or even a captain in Tour Down Under. It's really hot today, but I'm getting used to it now.
When they went out of the city the first time, seven riders had escaped. Over the radio I heard it was one more rider was in the breakaway. That made Orica take control over the pack, but it didn't seem like they were going fast.
They passed sometimes, and with 100 km to go, David Tanner had escaped. He was fastly gaining time to the breakaway, but Orica in the pack didn't give him free time, so he was about 50 sec in front of the pack.
He was just as far behind the breakaway as the pack was behind him, and his legs saw not as fresh as they were, but they seemed to be all right.
It took long time before they passed next, with all three Saxo riders at the front. But it was going slow. When they passed next time, Luke (Roberts) had attacked, but Orica were pushing hard behind. I heard over the radio that Evans and Gerrans attacked, who would arrive first? Rogers from Sky and Clarke(Orica) had also attacked and was in the group at the front. They were two min before the pack.
Everyone around me was excited, who would come first? I spotted a rider, and it was a Saxo Bank rider! Roberts was in the lead. He sprinted to a victory. Behind him, Rogers rode safely in to a second, while Clarke sprinted and took the third.
Goss won the sprint in the pack, while the other sprinters were boxed. Hayman, which had fallen, finished the race as the last.

Reporter: Congratulations Luke, you must be euphoric now? | Roberts: Yes, of course!! I am over the moon, think of carrying this wonderful jersey all year. I'm just so happy | Reporter: Is it true that this is your last season in Saxo Bank? | Roberts: Yes, it sadly is my last season. But I will end at top, which I find really nice. Now my name is pretty known when I quit cycling | Reporter: Are you going to quit cycling for the rest of your life or will you be a trainer or a scout, or maybe a manager? | Roberts: I haven't really taught about that, so I can't answer yet. | Reporter: In this winter, a young boy named Erik Larsen has joined your team, what do you think about him? | Roberts He is a very talented climber, and in our training camp, he was really pushing me and the others on the mountains. I think he'll be a future star. | Reporter: Well, now I'll let you go and celebrate your victory. Congratulations!! |
