Hello my name is Mark Velpois, I'm 22 and I'm from the North of France.
The 2012 u23 season is over and after a pretty good season, I hope I will find a Pro Team which want me in its squad.
About me
I'm born on the 4th of November in 1990 in the city of Lille. My father used to ride in an amateur team and he shared with me his passion of cycling.
I started in a local junior team but I was not very implicated and the manager did not really like me but anyway, after a year I stop riding with the team and I went on my own way.
At the age of 14 I discovered Cyclo Cross, I started with local races but I was doing well. My dad realized I wasn't made for sprint like him and he was a bit disappointed. But instead of forced me in a way I didn't like, he supported me and he made me as strong as I am now.
When I was 20 I came back to road race and this season I made the 3rd place in Paris - Roubaix U23 after 35km riding alone.
This year I was sponsored by Saur - Sojasun but after the loss of a sponsor they gave up the idea of signing me. Some Belgians and Dutch team are interested in me but for my first year I really wish to join a French team.
Well that's all I can tell you about me. I hope you will enjoy following my adventures.

Hi,
The transfers period is almost over and I'm still in discussion with Team Europcar , Accent Jobs - Wanty and Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling .
Team Europcar is the only French team interested by me and I think it is this team I'll join next season. In one hand, they had a consistent cobbled program during the year and I will be part of it. In another hand there are lots of cobbled riders in this team so the competition will be hard.
In Accent Jobs - Wanty, my main goal would be to show the jersey and going in most breakaway as possible. It's not really what I like but as a Belgian team , they may be invited to WT cobbled races in Belgium.
Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling is the only World Tour Team which offered me a contract. They have a strong squad for classics and I know that my role would only be to help Juan Antonio Flecha in the cobbled races. |

I found a Team!
After a long talk with Jean-rené Bernaudeau, I signed my first professional contract with Team Europcar. I decided to sign with them because they offered me some liberty in the cobbled races. Of course I must prove that I deserve this liberty. In two week we are going to Italy for a training camp.
See you |
