As I normally ask, I do like input, and I need an appropriate title for this story to put on the left side of my signature. I'll also try to be as responsive as possible to any questions or comments.
I'll be trying to keep the pace of the story fairly high, and will likely only be having pictures or lengthy recaps of important events. Sprint stages often will only get a picture of the final sprint, while mountains could have several pictures and details of what is going on. I'd really like to add video at some point, but may reserve that to Monuments and Grand Tours once everything else is going well and if I'm willing to put that much time into an individual stage at that point.

Training Camp
The team arrives in Australia for a visit to Cadel's home and for a preseason training camp. The simple objectives of the camp were to get the riders ready for an early and fast start to the season.
On the road several of the riders look comfortable and ready to go, led by Cadel Evans who is preparing for the Australian Championships only days away. One of the rides we would take would go over some of the championship course and we would also ride over some of the TDU routes including Old Willunga Hill.
Here are some pictures we took of the team during one of our rides.

Season Outlook
The 2013 season could be a challenge for the team. Although the squad is skilled, and there is a good depth to the talent many questions arise.
The team seems to lack a true contender for the Tour de France, Evans and Van Garderen both are very talented, but perhaps are just a knock off the top tier of riders today.
The classics would normally be led by Alessandro Ballen who is very good on the cobbles, but is hurt and won't be back until mid-May. There are several other good riders, but again no one is elite or expected to keep up with Boonen and Cancellara.
Like the TDF, the Ardennes holds the same fate, as Gilbert won all 3 races two years ago along with the UCI overall #1 ranking and seemed unbeatable, however last year he failed to defend any of his races, but did take the World Championship. Can he regain his 2011 form?
There are also several young riders, looking for roles to fill. Tejay has likely found his, a future GC leader, but the other young riders, Lander, Phinney, Warbasse, Blythe, Eijssen, and Nerz all have room to grow and figure out exactly what their future is. Is Taylor only a time-trial specialist? Nerz only a support in the mountains for the leaders? Can Blythe lead a team as a sprinter?
I'd like to get questions from several people to use as an interview session, feel free to ask anything you would like about the team; expectations, lineups, leaders, goals ... etc

What are your plans for this season and next, with regards to your old dogs and young pups? When Evans and Ballan begin to become super-domestiques at best, and riders such as Blythe and Van Garderen haven't yet reached their full potential, what do you plan to do? |

He probably made a few teams take the BMC jersey then picked a race/ stage in Australia and duplicated it and set it so only his BMC jersey laden teams would ride it.

Very close, made a DB, set all my riders to be Australian (and all other riders not) split them to several different teams, set those teams to use the BMC kits and then did the Australian Champ Race.
Wow.. How did you do that?
Read above for how to get all my riders in 1 race, to get that picture though I set my team to relay at 95 which strung out the entire group.

Will your transfer policy look to BMC's home of Switzerland? or will it be more general?
Who will lead the Tour, VG or Evans?
Do you think BMC can top the Team Rankings?

Responses to the Press

We plan to try and keep a fairly balance approach to our riders as they age, Ballen will have to take a step back this season due to his injury that keeps him out until mid-May, however expect a very aggressive return after that for him.
Evan's and Van Garderen will both be on display at Paris-Nice (VG) and Tirreno - Adriatico (Evans). From there we will determine who does what. Either way, the plan is for one to lead the Giro then support the other in the Tour.

Do you think BMC can top the Team Rankings?
We will definitely be looking at Switzerland to improve our team and every rider from Cancellara down is a target for us to potentially try and sign. Of our two scouts, one is already there, currently scouting the German-speaking region.
For the Tour, read above, it will depend on P-N and T-A.
I'd certainly like for us to top the rankings, I feel we have a strong team, not as strong as we would be with Ballan for the classics, and perhaps no elite riders for the Grand Tours, but if Gilbert can do well in the Ardennes there is no reason to think we shouldn't be up near the top.
Will Gilbert be doing the Tour?
The plan currently is for him to be there. We'd certainly like a stage win or two from him.
Thanks everyone for the questions, currently it's time to head down under for the NCs and the Santos Tour Down Under.
Spoiler Keep the questions and comments coming!!!
