Hey, I'm having some trouble with properly installing PCM 12. The game starts as it is supposed to, but the road is displayed as some kind of yellow pink squares (as it oftenly does when a patch or something is wrongfully installed). The equipment is also displayed with a background (black squares). I also can't select any databases (other than official release)
I know that this often happens when the game isn't installed wrong, which is why I repeatedly reinstalled the game. I'm having the same problem without installing any patches and I installed the game (for as far as i know) correctly.
(game is installed in Program Files/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager 12)
Any ideas? |

The game can't really be installed in a wrong way, can it?
It sounds more like a graphics driver issue to me. Did you try updating the driver?
A screenshot or two would be helpful. |

I came across this problem myself and, like CrueTrue said, it is a problem with the drivers of your graphics card.
If you don't know which graphics card you have, go to Control Panel - Hardware and sounds - Device Manager (under Devices and printers). Then open the menu under Display adapters. The name that is shown now is the name of your graphics card:
If it's ATI or AMD, for example ATI Radeon 9800, go to https://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload...index.aspx and select the right options. Then download the newest driver acailable.
If it's a nVidia GeForce graphics card go to https://www.geforce.com/drivers and search manually(!!), the automatic driver detection doesn't work properly. Select the right options and click Start search. Then download the newest driver acailable.
This should solve your problem. If not, try deleting the game entirely (including the folders C:/Program Files/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2012 or C:/Program Files (x86)/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2012 and Pro Cycling Manager 2012 in your Documents-folder.
Then reinstall the game and to be sure, run the Setup in Administrator-mode (right mouse button - Run as Administrator).

I will check the video card (not at home right now). I know it's certainly not a state of the art one, but never had this problem with previous versions of pcm. Did the minimal requirements change for PCM 12? |

I checked the videocard and updated the drivers, which didn't resolve the problem. I also still can't select any custom databases (which isn't a grapic driver issue).
anybody any other thoughts? |

If you cannot select another database, then the easiest solution would be to replace the official database. But I guess you just installed the databases into the wrong folder. |

Which OS did you install the game to? Then we could provide you with some instructions to where the specific files should be.

I have the game installed in C:/Program Files/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager 12 with the game folder in 'documents' of course.

Which graphic card do you have, and what drivers did you install? |

I have a ATI radeon 9600. The driver is quite out-dated, as there aren't any updates anymore. I don't think this is a graphic card issue though, even though it is such a bad video card, because of the database-select-issue. |

Try deinstalling the game once more, then make sure you delete all remaining files in the installation folder as well as the files in you documents-folder. Then reinstall the game. Don't start the game yet, but first install all official updates from Cyanide manually, by downloading 1.3.0.0 (containing all previous fixes) and 1.4.0.0 and install them in the right order.
If the problem still exists after this, you should contact Cyanide about this problem.

Sorry for my late reaction. But I tried updating my graphics card and now my whole computer disfunctions. So I first need to fix this problem before I can try your advice. |

Ok, I tried uninstalling PCM. An error occured as a file uninstall.dgx of some sort was missing. I deleted al the files on the C:/ drive as well as the map in documents. I reinstalled the game and uninstalled the game (in the hope that is would remove any files left from the previous installation) and i installed the game again. I installed the PCMdaily 13 DB V1 into C:/Program Files/Cyanide/Pro Cycling Manager 12. And the same problem does still occur: I can't select the database. |

I probably need a way to remove the remaining files. But I don't know where to find those (they aren't to be found in the Pro Cycling Manager 12 map in Program Files nor in the my documents Pro Cycling Manager 12 map)
Anyone any ideas? |

Type %appdata% in the windows explorer, then press enter.
There you find another pcm folder.
But beware: If you delete that, you will lose your achievements.
That said, your problem might be totally different from remaining files. Did you ever check if the database file is in the correct folder? I cannot remember the exact path but it should be somewhere around here: my documents\pcm12\

I deleted the entire map from the harddrive in my documents to make sure that it wouldn't mess up PCM. (with no effect)I see only one PCM 12 map in the %appdata% search method. I can try deleting that map and reinstalling PCM and the database. I don't care about any achievements, i just wat the game and the database to run properly.
Should I delete the map shown via the %appdata% method? |

I don't understand your question. If you want to delete everything related to PCM 12, then obviously you have to delete it.
BTW: The English name is folder not map.

Your right, i knew that, i'm sorry. What I meant was: I deleted the Pro Cycling Manager 12 folder in 'Documents' as well as the folder in Program Files. I still suspect there are a few files remaining on my drive, which affect the installation.
My question is:
Is this possible, and if so: Where or how to find these files?
If this isn't possible: If I were to change the name of the database to official release (which makes it possible to use the database of PCMdaily), is there something i can do in order to make the database function properly? Because if I do rename the database, the standard symptoms of a wrongfully installed database occur. |

You shouldn't "manually" delete the PCM folder in Program Files. Use the automatic uninstallation first and when that's done, delete the folder.
In addition to this, delete the PCMfolder in %appdata%
There shouldn't be anything left after this. |
