Well, that's the democratic process. Fair play to him for getting the biggest cut of the votes. I mean....the biggest slice. I mean stake. I mean.....uhh....

Not really new news but it was funny to see. On tv they edited an interview with Froome and Wiggins, like this:
Wiggins: I'd like to help Froome get the TDF win.
Next shot:
Froome: I don't think he's gonna help me.

Roche vs Visentini anyone? Would be hilarious to see history repeating itself by having Wiggins will attack Froome, nearly losing Sky the race

Meanwhile, Kreuziger reveals he signed with Team Bank-Bank mostly because Riis convinced him that since he doesn't recover well from stage to stage, he would do better as a classics rider.
As a result, his season will consist of working for Contador in stage races and leading in the classics

Sounds very smart to me. I've always thought he is more of a classics rider than a stage racer.
That means Majka goes for the Giro, Contador for the Tour and Rogers / Roche for the Vuelta? Or maybe Contador will try a Tour-Vuelta double?

Rogers is done for in GT's. That's sure. He'll target only week stage races with Tour as his only GT.

Majka is likely for the Giro. The Vuelta will likely be whoever is in form at the time, since the season is long and form/tiredness unpredictable.
Contador is likely to only do one GT and otherwise try to win a bunch of major stage races.
EDIT: He was supposed to try to win the Tirreno this year for a change, before the suspension was ratified. I assume that plan still stands.

I guess it depends on the parcours. Last year Tirreno had 2 (cutted down to 1 later) mountain stages. It could be different this year, and Montagne de Lure is rumoured for P-N iirc.

It would be very nice to see what Majka can do as a leader

As Pelli, i see it a s the smart move. Classics and week-long stage races are his best chances, but i still think he is a top5 GT material. For 2013, strong spring (Paris-Nice or Tirreno+ ardennes) and being superdomestique for Conta is the most possible way.

Too bad about Hoste retiring, never was a fan of the guy, but he did deserve better during his career. 3x 2nd in RvV, especialy the last one when he lost to Ballan will be remembered. And P-R he got hit by a car or motorcycle twice I think, tackled by a Flemish flag and by Flecha and DQed by a train
Now that I'm thinking back of all this, that guy was just born unlucky and should've won at least one classic.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

From memory it's was a motorcycle and yeah not the biggest fan but should have won a classic at some stage and not the greatest way to go out.
Kruziger will podium in a GT at some stage but not yet so aiming at the Ardennes would be a good move right now

Sure sucks for Hoste, but he's known as the unlucky guy in Belgium.
Good move for Kreuziger! Maybe Gesink should try that, too, for a while? |
