Looking forward to 2013
Ollfardh
Is anyone else as excited about 2013? I'm really looking forward to it, and I believe it will be an epic year.

Let's start with the Tour de France. Contador will want revenge after his ban. Froome will hopefully be allowed to attack finaly. Andy Schleck will probably show himself as well after a total disaster season. Wiggins wants to defend his title and there's people like Evans, Nibali, Sanchez and Van den Broeck that add fireworks. Maybe Gesink can stay on his bike for 3 weeks and show what he's worth. And there's youngsters like De Gendt, Pinot and Van Garderen coming up. This could be one of the best Tours of the last years!

In the classics, I'm looking forward to what Sagan can bring. He had some nice results last year, so he should be able to go for a victory this year. Cancellara lost most of the classic season last year, so he'll be back to win something. The Gilbert-Boonen rivalry will also peek I think, who will win the most this year?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Nibbles will ride the Giro next year, Sánchez Giro-Vuelta. Other than that, it will really be a great Tour, I hope.

Pellizotti2
Wiggins isn't defending his Tour title though.

Froome will be Sky's captain there.

Sagan will have a Gilbert-Year.
Gilbert will crash in one of the classics.
Giro will be boring, surprising winner tho.
Tour Exciting, until a mass crash happens in of the later flat stages causing 5 favourites to abandon, Froome will win.
Vuelta, Many riders will decide not to start at the last moment, Moreno will win it.

MTN will have a great year, but won't promote to WT.
Euskaltel will send weird teams to all races.
Old Rabobank will find a sponsor in March.
WCs will be boring.

I can't wait to see another Degenkolb spring!

I'm pretty sure he can Top3 MSR and Top5 RVV and P-R without crashes.

Sanchez is a real dumbass. What is he thinking not riding the Tour when he has very good odds(less ITT, no Wiggins&Nibali, Andy's form will be questionable)

Four things in 2013...
Froome will win the tour in the final TT
Nibali will own in the Giro
Sagan will win M-SR
Gilbert will be back to his best

His best odds were last (this) year, with no Contador and Schleck, Froome riding with the handbrake on, and others injured/not fully fit. It was the chance of a lifetime, but of course he got injured too. I don't think he'll skip the Tour, but, if he does, it doesn't seem so stupid to me, considering Contador will be there.

And I just read that Contador might skip the Tour too if doesn't get special treatment. Froome might have a real chance.

Without Contador and no crashes - Froome will win Tour easily. No other rider will challenge Sky as much as Conta. They can mange Schleck easily enough ( if he comes with good form ) because of his TT.

Contador is necessary to make the Tour a good show.

Alakagom As much as i hate Contador, i have to agree with you that if he isn't at the Tour in 2013 then there will be nobody else to make it a spectacle Wink

Pellizotti2
With or without Contador, I see Froome coming out on top.

I obviously hope that he'll be there though. I can't stand another Tour like this year's.

Will be interesting to see what sort of team gets selected to support Froome to the one this year for Wiggins Wink

Alakagom
It'd be better. No Cav. Big plus to the whole team. Plus they should race with 9 riders. Not 8 as this year. ( if they don't change the 9 rider rule that is ).

We'll know soon enough though. Paris - Nice squad will include majority of the Tour squad already, if all goes to plan. At least most of Froome's mountain support.

4 out of 3 things Contador says are lies, so I wouldn't really put much stock in that.

As much as the major headlines do sound interesting, they are buy and large for riders I dont really care about.

There are some interesting headlines I suppose, but a lot of negatives like riders and teams I enjoyed watching in seasons past, who are now gone, or are going to be wasted on their new teams.

Does he have any experiences with these insane races? Because you are too easily sure i think, these are not the Vuelta stages.
Look at Sagan example, he had similar Vuelta, he is similar rider, but still i think he is twice a beast like Degenkolb, so i wil really put all my hats off if Dekengolb will come even short to somewhat doing the same...

He would have won MSR last year without Cancellara's effort, or at least come a very close second to Sagan.
He was at the front in every cobble section in RVV until someone crashed directly in front of him (Boom??) right when the pace rose, and subsequently crashed again.
He was 19th in his first P-R 2011, where only a crash put him out of the group sprinting for 7th (he was in the break, granted).
Plus his WC effort over the Cauberg, where he went over at the very front every time but the last, coming 4th just close of Valverde.

Yes, he has experience, and results.

Then i have very bad memory, so sorry a thanks for reminding. I recall him only from Worlds and MSR, i was probably too focused on sagan Embarassed Smile
I like his riding too, so i am looking forward to this new generation beasts going against Boonen and Spartacus, time for a change.
