Tour de San Luis [2.1] - Stage 1
January 23, 2012
San Luis - Villa Mercedes : 166.2 kms
Team Strategy
"Thibaut Pinot, we need to you get in to the break away today and see if you can't get to the line. Frank, I know we are not in the best of shape, but I want you to shield Marcel Kittel from the wind and there is a chance, lead him out on the intermediate sprints. Tejay I want you and the rest of the team to ride near the front to stay our of trouble. Thomas De Gendt and Jerome Coppel if someone gets a mechanical or puncture I need you to get them back in to the peleton."
Race Report
The stage started off as expected and we did manage to get Thibaut Pinot in to the days break away with Gorka Izagirre [Euskaltel], Kevin Hulsmans [Farnese Vini], and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck [Omega Pharma]. The break was caught before the second sprint point as the peleton was not allowing anyting to break free with Ag2r and Caja Rural doing the work for the peleton.
The second sprint point saw Frank Schelck lead out Marcel Kittel for the win and no one else challenged and Frank took second with Sebastien Hinault [Ag2r] taking third on the sprint.
The were only two more attacks that didn't get anywhere as the peleton eased in to Villa Mercedes. Once there We set up our lead out for Marcel Kittel and it worked to perfection as he won the stage in front of Samuel Domoulin [Confidis] and Fabio Felline [Androni Giocattoli].
Marcel Kittel wears the Yellow Jersey and Frank Schelck is comfortably in 5th position. Tejay Van Garderen is also there in the 15th spot.

Tour de San Luis [2.1] - Stage 2
January 24, 2012
Fraga - Juana Koslay : 146.0 kms
Team Strategy
"Frank Schleck, I know your unhappy about yesterday and today your free to ride for a breakaway. We'd like to see you get in shape and ready for the sponsors goals that are coming up and the Tour de France. Marcel Kittel, today should be a sprint finish and if we don't have anyone in a breakaway, we'll bring it all together for you to get to the line."
Race Report
Frank Schelck (Century 21), F. Duarte (Columbia), P. Velits (Omega Pharma), and M. Cardoso (Caja Rural) 57.2 kms to go to the finish line. They only hold a 2'20" lead over the peleton but they are gaining time. The others in the break didn't want to work and they were caught with 35 kms to go to the line. Century 21 took over the peleton and paced everyone to the line.
In the bunch sprint, Marcel kittel was led out by Thomas De Gendt and was jumped by Jelien Simon and Robert Forster, but was able to get on and then out pace them to the line for his second stage victory of the Tour de San Luis. Kittle now holds a 38" lead over Julien Simon, and Fabio Felline by 42".
Frank Scheck who was in today break away is our best GC hope at this time and sits in 8th place 50" behind Marcel Kittle.

Tour de San Luis [2.1] - Stage 3
January 25, 2012
Estancia - Mirador del Potrero : 160.5 kms [Hills]
Team Strategy
"Today is our day, Tejay, Frank, Thomas, Jerome, and Thibaut, today you guys go for the line. We will put Pinot in the break. Today is all about that last hill, there is a Cat 1 climb in the middle of the stage, and we can't allow a break to get too far ahead if were not in it. Marcel your on your own today and wont get a shield from the wind. I feel condition wise today is Franks day."
Race Report
T. Pinot (Century 21), A Malori (Lampre), A. Labbe (Cofidis), and A Coyot (Saur - Sojasun) are the lone break away group, they are 7 kms from the top of todays Cat 1 climb and Pinot is tired of doing all the work is has started to pull away from the others as they've not been taking turns pulling through. The Peleton has started to chip away at the break away that had over 8 minutes at one point. Its being lead by Ag2r and Movistar.
R. Forster (United Healthcare) got dropped on the climb and hes got three team mates trying to bring him back in to the peleton, 1'44" back with 40.8 kms to the line. K. Reus, J. McCartney, and J. Thomson are the team mates with R. Foster, will they be able to get it done, Century 21 is not driving the pace at the head of the peleton.
With 40 kms to the line, the breakaway only has a 3'03" lead and the peleton is bringing them back, looks like the break away realized they will be caught and have let off the gas. Pinot is still driving the breakaway, but you can tell hes not pushing hard.
T. Pinot was able to outlast a charging peleton for a solo victory with Thomas De Gendt taking second on the stage just 26" behind and F. Schleck taking 4th on the stage. Tejay Van Garderen was 8th on the stage.
Julien Simon takes over the general classification finishing 19th on the stage just 26" behind the leader, as Marcel Kittle faded on the last climb an could not keep in contact with the main bunch and finished 1'27" back on the stage and is not 23" back in the over all standings in 26th position.
Thomas De Gendt is not the leader of Century 21 as he is just 4" off the pace and Frank Schelck is we within striking distance at 12" back and Tejay Van Garderen is also right there at 16" and ready to strike if opportunity presents it self.
Thibaut Pinot will wear the King of the Mountain jersey with his first place on top of Alto de Nogoli.
Marcel Kittel will be wearing the Points jersey as he has amassed the most sprint points with 64.
Tejay Van Garderen is the new young riders jersey wearer as he is on same time with five others, but finished ahead of them on today stage.
Century 21 is winning the Team competition and they opened up the gap that now is 26" ahead of Rabobank Cycling Team.
The manager is over joyed and the training camp in Africa is paying off where he had the guys for 10 days before the start of the race.

Tour de San Luis [2.1] - Stage 4
January 26, 2012
San Luis - San Luis : 19.8 kms [ITT]
Team Strategy
"Alright team, I know we didn't hold on to the general classification yesterday, but we are still in great position to get it back. Thomas De Gendt, Frank Schelck, and Tejay Van Garderen, this is the type of moments you wait for in races. Your with within striking distance and all we need a a great ride today and the general classification is yours. Honestly I feel that only Peter Velits (Omega Pharma) is your competition today. Marcel we need to you ride your heart out and not loose too much time out there. Lets go men, today is our day, lets show the world why you were chosen for Century 21 Cycling Team, lets how the UCI that we mean business."
Race Report
Tejay Van Garderen rode a perfect Time Trial today and finished the line 13" ahead of Rabobank's Wilco Kelderman and 17" a head of Thomas De Gendt. Marcel Kittel rode the time trial of his life and finished just 38" behind and Frank Schleck was a very respectable 53"off the pace.
Tejay Van Garderen now has the general classification lead, with Thomas De Gendt sitting in second place just 5" off the pace. Marcel Kittel is 45" off the pace, and Frank Schleck is 49" back.
