I thougt it could be funny, to hear why and what you picked in the newest poll.. I must say, I was in bit of a shock, when the result came up after my vote.. 70 votes on PCM 07 !!
Personally i think PCM is best game. It was the game after cym 4, and the graphical part of the game, the in-game, the mangement, the stages actually everything was just so much better than the ealier games.. |

Maybe the reason why PCM 2007 is leading the poll, is because there are members that only played this year game

PCM? No way! PCM was an awful game. Yes, the graphics looked better, but attacks on mountains were useless - in fact, all attacks were useless - the gameplay was useless *sighs*.
But I do see a pattern. Personally, I think Cycling Manager 4 was the best game. The game was pretty fast, the graphics were acceptable, and the amount of bugs were limited. There hadn't been much development since CyM3, but this game was fully playable and involved lots of fun
I felt pretty much the same with PCM06. After the huge disappointment with PCM, I had looked forward to the new version - and it really lived up to my expectations. They had sorted out the most annoying bugs and optimized the game.
I don't know about PCM07 yet. To me, it seems pretty much as PCM06, but with new menus = an improvement. Time will tell.
(I think it's a very relevant discussion )

But does the new improvements from 06 to 07 actually warrant you dishing out £30 or whatever it is for the new game?
That's why I refuse to buy it - it just seems like an expansion, and not a particularly good one, AT MOST

Cyanide's games have never been anything but expansions. |

Exactly - so why buy?
I do the same thing with Championship/Football Manager - I buy every 2/3 years, where you then get significant improvements on the game you have, and you actually get value for money

Because I'm a fan-boy and a collector who wants to own every PCM-game. That's actually my main reason.
Also, it's difficult to be in charge of a website about a game you don't own

Well, I wish I could do like you and buy the game after some years.. But I'm too weak. :/
But PCM07 has been a big disappointment!

I'm not even 100% sure I'll be getting FM this year, it's still not really a good enough improvement from 2006

Oh my! So you haven't even played the 2007 edition? That's the best one since 01/02! |

Whilst im quite fond of constantly "improving" (you know, altering the 4% code that Cyanide does) the series every year, PCM07 have been a monstrous step backwards. The graphics side is totally broken: Using spectators cause my computer to run outta RAM quickly, using shaders 2.0 slow everything down to a crawl, and there is one-texture per rider option! That is all things that worked excellent in PCM06! Thats why PCM06 gets my vote.

I agree that the graphics worked better in PCM06. Both games work just fine on my computer, but PCM06 is much faster at loading the in-game races, day turning, etc.. |

After playing few months for now just 07..first month july was terriblel..I reintsalled 06 game..then second attemp (not so fast this time)..for now I dont miss 06 game anymore..this is like Vista syndrom i hated exactly that long when I had my own...now I almost like it for now. Being fair - there is not much to need to buy 07 after you had 06..07 isnt ready..(strange)..next year...they want to do again something new..hold your horses cyanide..lets improve first all good what we have already...but who knows..looks like good game comes over a year..4 (wich was just amazing after 3)..pro was strange ..06 was great..07 not something great..08 should be great again. |

The only real new thing they added was the feeder club - all the rest was just quite a lot of tweaks - making it better, but not £30 better
